Producer: Sunday in the Mountains
Winter Sports Series
We are developing a new premium, multi-platform snow and mountain series fronted by one of the best-known presenters in British Snowsports. It is built for the way audiences watch sport today, for lifelong fans and a new, digital-first generation alike. Alongside world-class skiing and snowboarding, it covers adventure, travel, the changing climate and the health and wellbeing benefits of an active life in the mountains.
Season one is initially planned as six 45-minute episodes following the alpine ski racing season across the Alps.
The role
We are looking for an experienced sports and entertainment producer to deliver season one of this new series. You will work alongside our presenter and the Wavelength team to turn the format into six premium episodes and a week-round stream of social content, on location in the Alps and to a weekly turnaround.
This is a hands-on role. You will own the editorial and operational delivery of the series, from pre-production and contributor booking through to filming on the mountain, post-production and delivery to broadcast, streaming and social platforms. You will lead a core crew that includes experienced camera, edit and production people from one of the UK's best-known ski programmes, and expand it as the season requires.
Contract: Freelance, fixed term for season one
Location: UK/Europe, with extended travel to the Alps from January to February 2027
Key responsibilities
Produce six 45-minute episodes from development to delivery, keeping to a weekly turnaround through the race season.
Produce the recurring documentary and interview strands, including researching and booking contributors, experts and locations.
Coordinate guest co-presenters with our talent team: scheduling, briefing, filming and approvals.
Work with race organisers, federations and rights holders on access, accreditation, race footage and filming permissions.
Work with destination partners on filming access, in-kind travel, accommodation and logistics and destination-funded content.
Run the short-form pipeline alongside the main episode, so that platform-native clips go out every day of the week.
Shape the YouTube and social channel strategy with the Wavelength team, including a clipping workflow so partners, creators and publishers can share the show.
Build the production budget and financial model with the Wavelength team, including funded and unfunded scenarios, then manage the budget and schedule and lead and expand the crew, including camera, drone, sound and edit.
Lead mountain safety and logistics: risk assessments, mountain guides, avalanche awareness, insurance, travel, kit for cold and high-altitude filming, and weather contingency plans.
Integrate brand partner features into episodes and social content to brief, while protecting the series' editorial integrity and meeting compliance rules.
Oversee post-production with the edit team, including remote and on-location workflows, and deliver to broadcaster and platform technical specifications.
Requirements
Producer or series producer credits on sports, outdoor or adventure programming for broadcast or streaming, with a strong portfolio.
Experience producing on location in mountain or remote environments, ideally in winter conditions.
A competent skier or snowboarder, able to work safely on the mountain with crew and talent.
Experience of fast turnaround or weekly series production, ideally including live or near-live sport.
Experience producing social-first video, with a good understanding of how content performs on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
Proven ability to build and manage budgets, schedules, crews and suppliers, ideally on commercially funded or sponsor-backed productions.
Strong editorial judgment and storytelling that works for lifelong fans and complete newcomers alike.
Working knowledge of compliance, rights, clearances and production risk assessments.
A network of crew, editors and suppliers to add to the existing core team where needed.
Desirable
Knowledge of alpine ski racing and the World Cup circuit.
Relationships with ski resorts, national federations or snowsport athletes.
Experience delivering branded content and sponsor integrations for brands, sports organisations or broadcasters.
Self-shooting, drone or editing skills.
What we offer
The chance to shape a new winter-sports series from the ground up.
Close collaboration with a leading snowsports presenter and talent from snowsport, sport and entertainment.
Distribution through the Wavelength network of social channels and partners.
The potential to continue into future seasons and the wider franchise.
To apply
Please submit your showreel or portfolio and a summary of your experience. Include links to your most relevant sports, outdoor or adventure work, your day rate or season fee and your availability between now and February 2027. We would also like a short note on how you would approach the first episode of a weekly ski series filmed at a World Cup race.
