Product & AI Systems Intern

This is a remote position.

Role Summary

You'll join Core Products within the Product and Experience Design Business Unit, the team building the technical backbone behind CrescentRating and HalalTrip products. You'll use AI tools like Claude Code to design, build, and ship real features, while applying design thinking and understanding of Muslim travel needs to shape what actually gets built. In this role, AI is the primary development engine, not a supplementary aid. We expect you to direct AI tools with precision, catch what they get wrong, and proactively direct the output - from schema design to active workflows. You'll take ownership of small builds end-to-end, from rough ideas to something live.

Key Responsibilities

• AI-Assisted Feature Development: Build and ship features end-to-end using AI coding tools — designing the schema, business logic, and UI — while directing the AI with precision, verifying its output, and taking proactive ownership of what gets shipped.
  

• Product Scoping & Design Thinking: Apply structured design thinking to scope problems and shape solutions before building; defining the right problem, the right user, and the right constraints before any code is written.
  

• Data Layer Support: Support the team's data build on Supabase, contributing to schema design, table relationships, and data integrity to ensure a reliable and scalable foundation.
  

• Prototyping & Iteration: Prototype internal tools and diagnostics rapidly, iterate on feedback from the team, and ship thin, useful MVPs rather than over-engineered solutions.
  

• Testing & Documentation: Test your own builds, document your work clearly, and ensure that what you ship is reliable, reproducible, and maintainable by others.

• Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM SGT (GMT+8)
  

Requirements

Must Have

• Final semester students or recent graduates are welcome to apply
  

• Comfortable directing AI coding tools to build real, working features
  

• Genuine interest in design thinking and product innovation, not just execution
  

• Basic grasp of how databases work (tables, relationships, foreign keys, data types)
  

• Self-driven; comfortable owning a task from idea to shipped with light supervision
  

• Strong command of written and spoken English for daily communication across a remote, globally distributed team
  

Good to Have

• Prior exposure to Supabase or similar backend platforms (e.g., Firebase, PlanetScale, Neon)
  

• Experience vibecoding end-to-end products
  

• Experience using version control (Git) for personal or academic projects
  

• Exposure to product management concepts — user stories, acceptance criteria, or wireframing tools
  

• Interest in the Muslim-friendly travel space
