Due to continued growth in the UK and Ireland, we are seeking a Product Application Engineer to join our Low Voltage Distribution Switchgear Centre of Excellence. Role Overview The Product Application Engineer is a customer-facing technical role responsible for translating customer requirements into practical and commercially viable solutions. Working closely with customers and internal teams across Sales, Engineering, Product Management and Operations, you will support product selection, application development, technical validation and business growth across utility, renewable energy and industrial markets. Key Responsibilities · Support customer prequalification activities, technical approvals and vendor onboarding processes for utility, industrial and renewable energy customers. · Prepare technical responses for tenders, framework agreements and major project opportunities, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and industry standards. · Develop technical cost build-ups, solution cost models and commercial inputs to support quotations, tender submissions and business case evaluations. · Provide technical and application engineering support to customers, channel partners and the Sales team. · Support product selection, specification development and solution design for customer projects. · Gather customer and market requirements and translate them into product and application development opportunities. · Contribute to the development, testing, validation and introduction of new products and solutions. · Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Engineering teams to support product improvement initiatives. · Conduct technical evaluations, product assessments and field trials. · Develop technical documentation, application guides, training materials and case studies. · Represent Ensto at customer meetings, industry events and technical forums. Education & Experience · Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. · Minimum 5 years' experience within utility, electrical distribution, renewable energy or industrial markets. · Experience in application engineering, product development, technical sales, product management or a similar customer-facing technical role. · Knowledge of low and medium-voltage distribution systems and associated products. · Understanding of relevant industry standards, utility specifications, product qualification and homologation process and best practices. · Experience of product testing, validation and qualification processes. · Customer-focused with strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills Customer & Communication · Strong customer engagement and relationship-building skills. · Ability to translate customer requirements into effective technical and commercial solutions. · Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. · Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
