About our client
Our client is a regulated fintech based in Zurich building the operating system for private markets. Legal, financial and tax workflows, all in one platform. Their customers are VC firms, asset managers, family offices and the investment arms of private banks.
The pitch is simple: private markets today are where public markets were 30 years ago. Deals still need notaries to sign contracts. Most of the process runs on email, PDFs and spreadsheets. Our client is fixing that.
They're a team of 20, backed by around $7M in private funding, and expanding their licenses across multiple jurisdictions. They grow on purpose, not at any cost: the plan is to reach around 35 people by the end of 2027. Every hire matters.
The role
Our client is opening two complementary product roles, both reporting to the CTO. This one is the product-first side. You own what gets built and why, and increasingly you'll prototype or build it yourself. You'll work alongside a Financial Systems Engineer who turns product direction into structured, tested systems.
This is not a backlog admin role. You set the direction, break it into concrete bets, say no early to anything that doesn't earn its place, and stay accountable until what ships creates real value for customers and the business. You sit between finance, legal, customers, engineering and AI, and you're expected to understand the mechanics underneath, not just coordinate around them.
What you'll do
Set the product roadmap with management and turn the market thesis into a sequenced path of high-conviction bets with measurable outcomes
Decide what to build, buy, partner for or deliberately not build, keeping a coherent path from today's product to the long-term architecture
Hold the financial, legal and regulatory complexity yourself (private market mechanics, securities, KYC/AML/KYT as product flows) and turn it into products that are simple to use
Take messy real-world processes and redesign them, instead of just digitizing what already exists
Prototype and build meaningful parts of the product yourself, working in the codebase and using AI coding and agentic tools to get from idea to working product fast
Own product quality: acceptance criteria, edge cases, failure modes, and a high bar for correctness, security and compliance
Work closely with the Legal and Compliance teams, and guide the team's product rituals (planning, demos, retros)
What our client is looking for
5+ years in product management, product architecture or a technical product role, ideally in regulated fintech, lending, digital transactions or legal structuring
You've co-designed, built and shipped a regulated financial product. Building, not administering
Solid understanding of financial products and securities, and how compliance and legal requirements become product workflows
Experience taking products from zero to MVP and from 1 to 100
Hands-on with AI-assisted development: you use it to research, prototype, code and test, not only as a product feature
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to break a vision into shippable steps
Strong product judgement and the confidence to make calls and defend them
Strong backgrounds include product leaders from scaled fintechs, especially in payments, banking or spend management, who have worked close to financial and regulatory complexity. Private markets experience is a big advantage. Exposure to tokenization, digital assets or on-chain settlement is a strong plus.
Location
EU nationality or a valid Swiss/EU residency permit is required. The setup is partially remote with travel to Zurich around once a month. Candidates based in Southern Europe who are open to relocating to Zurich are especially welcome, and relocation support is provided.
Compensation
100–120K€ base
Around $50K in ESOP per year
Relocation support
Swiss tax rate of around 12%
Timing
Our client is looking to have this person on board by mid-November 2026 or January 2027. No December starts, as Q4 is their busiest quarter.
