Product Configuration Expert – SAP MDG (Athens, Greece)

We are looking for a Product Configuration Expert – SAP MDG on behalf of our client, a large international organization with a complex enterprise technology landscape. You will join the Data Management Platforms team and play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance solutions . The role combines strong hands-on expertise in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) with technical and functional knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, BRF+, workflows, and system integrations . You will collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable master data solutions. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in SAP MDG Business Partner, Customer and/or Supplier domains , with MDG Consolidation experience considered a strong advantage.   Location: Athens, Greece Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days remote Department: Data Insights & Artificial Intelligence / Digital & Technology Seniority: Experienced Professional Employment: Full-time Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, business stakeholders, and cross-functional IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications. Contribute to the strategy, design, and implementation of the end-to-end Master Data Management and Data Governance journey . Configure SAP master data objects in SAP MDG and S/4HANA , including governance models, rule-based workflows, BRF+, and mass maintenance solutions. Participate across different project phases, including discovery, solution design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Design and maintain technical documentation, including BPDs, FDDs, TSDs, data models, data flows, and technical specifications . Define inbound and outbound data replication models , including BADI usage, SOA services, and SOA Manager configurations. Support SAP development and integrations with both SAP and non-SAP systems . Configure, debug, test, and troubleshoot SAP MDG applications, including data discrepancies and integration issues. Research and apply relevant SAP OSS Notes when required. Lead and guide SAP MDG/ABAP developers and data engineers, including internal teams and external vendors. Work with DevOps teams to support continuous integration and delivery pipelines for Master Data Governance solutions. Stay current with SAP MDG, data governance technologies, and industry best practices. Essential Skills & Experience 3+ years of experience working with SAP S/4 master data objects, Master Data Management, and/or Data Quality Management. Strong hands-on experience with SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG) . Experience configuring SAP MDG Business Partner, Customer and/or Supplier master data domains. Hands-on experience with SAP MDG workflows, governance models, BRF+, and mass maintenance . Functional and technical knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, MDG, Fiori, ABAP, Workflow, BRF+, SOA Services, and BADIs . Experience defining inbound/outbound replication models and configuring SOA Manager. Ability to support and follow SAP development activities and integrations with SAP and non-SAP systems. Experience preparing technical and functional documentation such as BPD, FDD, and TSD . Experience with configuration, debugging, and testing of SAP MDG applications . Good understanding of data migration, data governance, data quality, and testing processes. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Strong English communication skills and ability to collaborate with international stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors. Nice to Have Experience with SAP MDG Consolidation . Experience with data validation services through SAP Master Data Quality Management (MDQ) . Experience with SAP CRM, SD, or PTP from a master data perspective. Knowledge of SAP master data object tables, data migrations, and data quality validation. Experience configuring and extending MDG workflows for automated validations, derivations, approvals, and change management. Experience with cutover activities and end-to-end integration testing . Strong understanding of SAP modules and their integration with other enterprise systems. Knowledge of Agile and/or SAFe Agile methodologies. SAP MDG certification is considered an advantage.
