Role Description The AI Product Design Tutor role is a remote, volunteer position focused on guiding learners through the fundamentals and advanced concepts of AI-driven product design. On a day-to-day basis, the tutor will prepare and deliver online lessons, workshops, or live sessions on topics such as design thinking, user research, product design, and integrating AI into design workflows. The tutor will review learners’ projects, provide constructive feedback, and offer mentorship on best practices in UX and visual design. Additional responsibilities may include creating learning materials, collaborating with other tutors to refine the curriculum, and engaging with the community through discussion forums and group activities. The role is ideal for individuals who enjoy teaching, sharing knowledge, and supporting emerging designers in a flexible, online setting.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Product Design and Design Thinking, with the ability to teach practical, real-world applications.
• Experience in User Research and UX Research, including planning studies, analyzing findings, and translating insights into design decisions.
• Proficiency in Visual Design, with an understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and design systems.
• Familiarity with AI-related design tools or workflows (e.g., AI-assisted prototyping, generative design, or data-informed design decisions).
• Previous teaching, mentoring, or coaching experience in design or related disciplines is highly beneficial.
• Clear and inclusive communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to learners at different skill levels.
• Comfort working remotely, managing time independently, and using online collaboration and learning platforms.
• Relevant academic background or equivalent practical experience in design, human-computer interaction, or related fields.
