We're here to help those who teach. It's what brings us to work every day. At Twinkl, we’ve been providing educators across the world with high quality, trusted teaching and learning resources for over a decade now. They’re all written and checked by our wonderful team of experienced educators, and there are hundreds of thousands of resources to download, with new ones added daily.

The product team is dedicated to creating innovative and engaging experiences for both learners and educators. We are committed to enriching the lives of users by maintaining and evolving our web platform, as well as through creating tools that save adults time and educational applications that inspire learning in children.

We are seeking an experienced Product Designer to lead core component design, manage standardised design libraries, and drive design system adoption across product and design teams. In this role, you will actively construct, optimise, and document foundational system elements while providing guidance and support to peer designers contributing to the system.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

  • Component Execution: Build and refine responsive, accessible UI components using advanced features like Auto Layout, properties, and variables.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Write and update clear usage guidelines, interaction specifications, and clear "do’s and don’ts" for each component.
  • Developer Alignment: Partner with front-end engineers to ensure design libraries and assets align with code libraries.
  • System Support: Act as a main point of contact for design and product teams, triaging bug reports, reviewing contributions, and helping resolve implementation and design blockers.
  • Audit & Optimisation: Conduct regular UI audits across existing products to identify inconsistent patterns and consolidate them into the system.

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be User Centric: Have a deep empathy for users and a strong commitment to creating solutions that meet their needs and enhance their experience.
  • Be Collaborative: Thrive in a team environment, working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Be Innovative: Bring creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to explore new ideas and approaches to design challenges.
  • Be Detail Oriented: Have a keen eye for detail, ensuring the highest quality in design deliverables and user experiences.
  • Be Adaptable & have a growth mindset: Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and new challenges, open to learning and responsive to feedback.

We're interested in people that have:

  • 2–4 years of digital product design experience, with at least 1 year focused on or heavily contributing to design systems.
  • Figma Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of component architecture, library publishing, and basic variables/tokens management.
  • Systems Mindset: ability to look beyond a single feature or screen to see how a component functions across different user flows and use cases.
  • Accessibility proficiency: foundational knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), its application and quality assurance
  • Portfolio showcasing your system’s design process, user research, and final designs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • First-hand experience with some of the latest prototyping AI tools, either professionally or as personal experimentation.
  • An understanding of the EdTech landscape, and emerging technologies such as AI is a plus
