We're hiring a Product Engineer to build features end to end, from the customer-facing dashboard to the forecasting and optimisation that drive our platform. You'll work at the intersection of IoT, complex optimisation problems and energy markets.
TL;DR
Pleevi is an energy management system (EMS) for industrial and commercial sites. We control solar, batteries, EV chargers and building loads as one system, within the limits of the grid connection and with an eye on energy prices. We're looking for an engineer who wants ownership across the full stack and enjoys turning hard problems into products.
Why Pleevi?
- Solve real problems. Our customers rely on Pleevi to lower their energy costs and make the most of their own solar and batteries, without overloading their grid connection.
- Bridge software and the physical world. The schedules you compute end up controlling real batteries, chargers and solar installations, every second of the day.
- A mission that matters. Smarter energy management means more renewable energy used on site, less strain on the grid and a faster energy transition.
What you'll do
- Own features end to end: from design to UI, API, data model and background jobs
- Improve our forecasts for solar production, site load, EV demand and energy prices
- Extend the optimisation that turns forecasts, tariffs and grid limits into schedules for every asset on site
- Work on the Rust software that runs on our edge devices and controls assets on site in real time
- Build integrations with partners and charge point management systems over OCPP, MQTT and APIs
- Contribute to the architecture of a growing platform and review your colleagues' work
- Support clients when they experience issues
What we're looking for
- Experience building and running production software, with features you took from idea to release
- Strong experience in Python or Rust, our two core languages, and the willingness to work in both
- Enough TypeScript and React to ship a frontend feature independently
- Solid data modelling and API design, and experience with async or event-driven systems
- Comfort with numerical work: time series, data pipelines, forecasting or optimisation
- Curiosity about the latest AI tools and a drive to automate and parallelise
- Product sense: you understand the problem before you choose the solution
- Growth potential matters more to us than years of experience
Nice to have
- Experience with forecasting models or mathematical optimisation
- Familiarity with BRP, FSP, the imbalance market, aFRR and mFRR
What we offer
- A competitive salary package
- A mobility budget
- Hybrid working, with at least 2 days a week at the office
- Real ownership in a small team, with no handovers between frontend, backend and data
- On-call during business hours only, with no site visits
