Indexync helps sellers across Southeast Asia run their business on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop and Shopify from one place, with inventory sync, product listing management and order consolidation. Our merchants want software that is simple and just works, and that is the standard we build to. We are an early-stage team that cares about building well and learning quickly from how merchants actually use the product.

About the role

We are looking for a product engineer intern who brings together product sense, an eye for UI/UX, and the ability to ship working software with AI tools. You will work directly with the founders to decide what to build, design it in code, and ship it to production for real merchants.

This is a builder role. You will own features from the problem through to release, rather than pick up tickets that someone else has already specced. You don't need a computer science degree. What matters is that you have built and shipped things, and that you can explain the choices you made.

What you will do

• Ship new product features end to end on the Indexync platform, from understanding the problem to release and follow-up.
• Improve merchant-facing experiences such as product listing, onboarding and sync status, with attention to edge cases, error states and interaction detail, not only the happy path.
• Build and iterate on growth surfaces: our website, landing pages, and sign-up and activation flow.
• Prototype in code with AI tools (for example Claude Code, Cursor or Codex) to test ideas early, and turn the strongest ones into production features.
• Use merchant feedback, support issues and product data, shared by the founders, to decide what to improve and how to tell whether it worked.
• Check your own AI-assisted work: test it, look for failure cases, and make sure it behaves as intended before it ships.
• Document what you build, and share the patterns, components and prompts that work so the team can reuse them.

You may be a good fit if you

• Are a current student or recent graduate, in any discipline.
• Have built and shipped something real using AI tools, such as a product, side project, hackathon project or tool that people actually used.
• Have a feel for good product and UI/UX: you notice when a flow is confusing or a screen is cluttered, and you want to fix it.
• Can take a loosely defined problem, decide what matters, and make sensible trade-offs between scope, quality and speed.
• Communicate clearly in English, in writing and in conversation.
• Take ownership of outcomes, and ask for help when you need it.

Strong candidates may also have

• Familiarity with web technologies such as React, TypeScript, Node.js or Firebase, enough to read and adjust AI-generated code.
• A portfolio of UI work, or experience with design systems or front-end prototyping.
• Experience building with LLMs or agentic workflows.
• An interest in e-commerce, marketplaces or how online businesses run.

How we work

• AI tools are part of how we build every day. We explore ideas, designs and architecture with AI before we build, and we ship through a structured AI-driven workflow. We expect you to work this way too, and to check AI output rather than trust it.
• The founders review code before it ships, so you can move quickly with support.
• Our stack: React, TypeScript, Node.js, Firebase, GitHub with external marketplace API integrations.

• Location: Singapore, hybrid
• Start date: As soon as possible; later starts will be considered
• Duration: Minimum 3 months; longer internships preferred
• Commitment: Full-time preferred
• Team: You will work directly with the founders
• Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience
