Job Title: Product Listing Associate

Monthly Pay: $3,531 - $5,204 USD per month

Summary:

Working in an ecommerce platform such as Shopify, the Product Listing Associate maintains accurate online product listings that help shoppers understand and compare items. The role sits within the product management team and works under a product catalog team lead. It works with merchandising colleagues, supplier contacts, and customer support colleagues to resolve missing details and keep product information consistent. This fully remote position lets you work from home in New York, United States, supporting online store operations through careful updates rather than selling. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review incoming product listing requests from the shared work queue and email, identifying new items, requested changes, missing information, and the next action needed.
  • Check supplied product names, item identifiers, dimensions, materials, colors, and sizes against approved source information before entering or changing online store details.
  • Prepare assigned product entries using existing approved descriptions and supplied images, following established formatting instructions without creating promotional copy or designing visual assets.
  • Organize product categories, tags, attributes, and variant relationships so customers can browse related items and distinguish available options accurately across the online store.
  • Enter approved listing updates in an ecommerce platform such as Shopify, checking that each change applies to the correct product and variant.
  • Maintain update trackers in a spreadsheets and data entry tool such as Microsoft Excel, noting request status, source references, unresolved questions, and completed checks.
  • Preview product pages before release, checking image placement, displayed attributes, links, category placement, and consistency between the listing and approved source information.
  • Follow up with supplier contacts or merchandising colleagues when required details are missing, keeping incomplete entries pending until the requested information is confirmed.
  • Escalate conflicting product information, repeated import errors, or unclear publication instructions to the product catalog team lead, explaining checks already completed and outstanding questions.
  • Confirm published changes, record completion notes, and flag remaining issues; quality is judged through accuracy, turnaround, complete notes, and timely follow-up.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience required; related experience updating online product listings, maintaining catalogs, or supporting ecommerce administration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with product attributes, item identifiers, category structures, and variations such as size or color, including how these details affect customer understanding.
  • Comfort learning an ecommerce platform such as Shopify and following step-by-step instructions for creating entries, editing attributes, previewing pages, and saving approved changes.
  • Ability to use a spreadsheets and data entry tool such as Microsoft Excel to review item lists, compare fields, and maintain clear update trackers.
  • Careful reading and checking skills, with the ability to spot mismatched values, duplicate entries, missing details, and inconsistent formatting before publication.
  • Clear written communication for requesting product information, explaining discrepancies, and sharing concise progress updates with colleagues and the team lead.
  • Access to a reliable computer, high-speed internet, and quiet private workspace, plus availability for the 40-hour weekly commitment and agreed working days and shift times.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Fully remote work supporting online product catalogs from your home workspace.
  • Structured onboarding and training on an ecommerce platform such as Shopify and a spreadsheets and data entry tool such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Regular check-ins with the team lead to review questions, priorities, and feedback.
  • Practical development of product classification, catalog maintenance, and listing verification skills.
  • Health coverage, paid leave, a 401(k), maternity leave, and stipends.
