Location: Zurich, Switzerland (Hybrid role)

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager / Banking Payments Specialist to join a major banking platform program in Zurich.

The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in product management, consulting, business engineering, or project management within the financial industry, combined with strong knowledge of payment transactions, SIC and SWIFT.

You will take responsibility for product management within the payment transactions domain and act as the Product Management representative in a banking platform program. The role involves analysing existing core banking functionality, supporting potential platform replacement initiatives, managing requirements, coordinating stakeholders and contributing to the further development of payment-related risks and controls.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for Product Management in Payment Transactions within the banking environment.
• Act as the Product Management representative in a large-scale Banking Platform Program.
• Analyse and evaluate potential replacement solutions for core banking functionality related to payment transactions.
• Collect, analyse and document business and functional requirements for payment transaction processes.
• Support and accompany the vendor selection and evaluation process.
• Coordinate and orchestrate stakeholders across business, IT, vendors and other relevant functions.
• Identify and promote initiatives aimed at reducing risks in payment transactions.
• Support the further development and improvement of payment-related controls.
• Analyse market and customer requirements and translate them into appropriate product initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic decisions around banking platforms and payment transaction solutions.
• Work closely with business and technology teams to ensure payment requirements are clearly understood and implemented.

Requirements:

• Completed degree in Business Administration, Banking, Engineering or a comparable discipline.
• Several years of professional experience in Product Management, Consulting, Business Engineering or Project Management within the financial industry.
• Strong practical knowledge of payment transactions and payment systems.
• Extensive knowledge of SIC and SWIFT.
• Experience working with banking platforms or core banking functionality.
• Strong understanding of requirements analysis and documentation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.
• High degree of self-initiative and ability to work independently.
• Quick grasp of complex business and technical relationships.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with banking platform migrations.
• Experience with core banking system replacement.
• Experience in vendor selection, RFPs or solution evaluation.
• Knowledge of ISO 20022 and modern payment standards.
• Experience with payment risk management and internal controls.
• Experience working in large-scale banking transformation programs.
