We are committed to creating meaningful social, environmental, and economic change in our communities.

Department Overview

WDTech is W&D’s in-house technology team – a group of collaborative and highly skilled technology professionals, all of whom are leading experts in real estate data, data science, and technology.

WDTech Product works hand-in-hand with the business to translate business outcomes into actionable product strategies, aligning user needs with innovative solutions, via close collaboration with our engineering partners, to ensure W&D maintains a competitive advantage as our technology landscape and target market rapidly evolve.

The Impact You Will Have

As a Product Manager for WDSuite, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our Affordable Equity platform. You will work closely with capital providers, fellow Product Managers, business stakeholders, and technical leadership to develop solutions that streamline deal execution and address the needs of our users.

In this role, you will help shape and execute the product roadmap by identifying opportunities to improve existing capabilities and extend our product offering. You will bring together user needs, business priorities, and technical considerations to help deliver thoughtful, effective solutions and contribute new and innovative ideas to the continued development of WDSuite.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the product roadmap for your area, guiding critical capabilities from concept through delivery to the customer.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges, user needs, and desired outcomes and translate those insights into product solutions.
  • Translate product strategy into clear and detailed requirements, user stories, and prototypes that support successful product development.
  • Serve as Product Owner for assigned scrum team(s), working closely with engineers throughout the development process to deliver high-quality products on time.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, business stakeholders, and technical leadership to align product priorities and support effective decision-making.
  • Engage with customers and partners to communicate roadmap updates, gather product feedback, and better understand their needs and challenges.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing capabilities and extend the product offering based on customer, partner, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Apply product management experience and best practices to develop thoughtful, reliable solutions that meet user and business needs.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the end user, including their workflows, needs, and pain points, and incorporate that perspective into product decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the product development process to maintain alignment on priorities, requirements, and expected outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of product management or related experience.
  • Background working in an Agile environment and partnering with technical teams to deliver products or capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success translating business and user needs into clear product requirements and user stories.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with business stakeholders, customers, partners, and technical teams.
  • Real estate industry and/or financial services technology experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of user needs, workflows, challenges, and pain points, with a focus on incorporating the user perspective into product decisions.
  • Agile mindset with a willingness to work iteratively, provide timely feedback, and adapt as needs evolve.
  • Ownership and accountability for work and initiatives from concept through delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to developing practical solutions to business challenges.
  • Clear and effective communication of product concepts, requirements, priorities, and decisions to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills when working across Product, business, technical teams, customers, and partners.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges, recognize opportunities for growth, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to balance multiple priorities while maintaining attention to quality and user needs.
