An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Manager (Injury Management) to join our talented team in Auckland.

Purpose of Role

As the Product Manager for Injury Management, you will take end-to-end ownership of our Australian Injury & Claims Management solution. This product is central to our competitive positioning and expansion in the Australian enterprise market, going head-to-head with established industry players.

At ecoPortal, the Product Manager is also responsible for scope definition. Writing clear, comprehensive, and unambiguous requirements is the cornerstone of this position. You will dive deep into complex Australian state-by-state workers' compensation frameworks, translating regulatory nuances, weekly compensation calculations, and Return-to-Work workflows into developer-ready functional specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Product Strategy & Roadmaps: Own and execute the roadmap for our AU Injury Management solution, establishing standardized, scalable baseline configurations that deliver high customer value without custom one-off bloat.
  • Deep Functional Business Analysis: Elicit, scope, and document meticulous requirements, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering squads.
  • Tackle Regulatory Complexity: Break down multi-jurisdictional Australian workers' compensation legislation, step-down rates, and statutory rules into logical calculation models and system behaviors.
  • Design Core Workflows: Lead the definition of end-to-end injury workflows, including Medical Certificates/Certificates of Capacity, Return-to-Work (RTW) plans, automated reminders, and case communication timelines.
  • Represent Voice of Customer: Engage directly with Australian enterprise clients, injury case managers, and internal Customer Success teams to eliminate workflow friction and excessive clicks.
  • Delivery & Sprint Collaboration: Partner closely with UI/UX designers and engineering teams to groom backlogs, clarify edge cases, run sprint planning, and conduct acceptance testing on finished deliverables.

We’re looking for someone who…

  • Excels at Requirements Writing: Has proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, or Senior Business Analyst where crafting robust, granular specifications and user stories was a primary responsibility.
  • Possesses Strong Systems & Analytical Thinking: Loves untangling intricate logic, state models, and edge cases, turning complicated compliance problems into elegant, intuitive software flows.
  • Learns Domain & Regulation Rapidly: Has an aptitude for digesting complex regulatory frameworks (experience with Australian workers' comp, injury management, InsurTech, or FinTech is a major bonus, but the ability to rapidly master compliance rules is essential).
  • Has Strong Execution & Delivery Habits: Brings solid agile/scrum delivery experience, keeping engineering aligned and features shipping smoothly.
  • Communicates with Clarity: Can bridge technical conversations with software engineers and strategic discussions with enterprise stakeholders with equal fluency and empathy.
