About the Role
Own the end-to-end product experience across two of Sportingbet SA's most strategically critical domains — the Casino offering and the full deposit-and-withdrawal (Banking & Cashier) journey — both of which directly drive revenue, retention, and brand trust. Fixing the payments experience and making fast, frictionless withdrawals a signature USP are board-level priorities: this role ships product changes that land in production and move KPIs within weeks, working within Entain's global platform while advocating for the needs of the South African market.
Key Responsibilities
Casino Product
Own the casino product roadmap for the South African market, working within Entain's platform and advocating for local customisation.
Manage the game content portfolio — slots, live casino, table games — including title selection, lobby merchandising, and provider relationships.
Analyse casino performance (NGR, hold, margin, active players) and translate data into lobby, UX, and promotional improvements.
Brief CRM and marketing on casino bonusing mechanics, free-spin campaigns, and tournament structures, and ensure promotional configurations are built correctly.
Identify and close gaps versus competitor casino products; monitor South African market trends in iGaming content and features.
Manage the casino content calendar in partnership with the trading and marketing teams.
Banking & Cashier
Own the deposit and withdrawal customer journey from the first tap through to confirmed settlement, reducing friction at every step.
Track, report on, and continuously improve deposit success rate (a primary business KPI) and withdrawal processing speed (a core brand USP).
Manage integrations with local payment providers (EFT, instant EFT, card, digital wallets) in partnership with Entain's platform team and local tech.
Identify drop-off points in the cashier funnel using data, and write clear, prioritised briefs for UX and engineering fixes.
Ensure all cashier flows remain compliant with WCGRB requirements, FICA obligations, and responsible gambling controls.
Work with the support team to understand customer complaints related to deposits and withdrawals, and feed these into the product roadmap.
Monitor the South African payments landscape for new methods, providers, or regulatory changes that could benefit the customer experience.
General Product Management
Write clear product requirement documents (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Manage the product backlog for Casino and Banking & Cashier, prioritise ruthlessly, and communicate trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
Own sprint ceremonies for your squads; keep engineering teams unblocked and on track.
Define, track, and report on product KPIs; present performance updates to leadership in a clear, numbers-first style.
Build strong working relationships with Entain's platform product and tech teams to advocate for local market needs within the global roadmap.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
2–5 years of product management experience, with a track record of shipping features that moved commercial metrics.
Strong analytical ability — comfortable using data to diagnose problems, set priorities, and measure success; SQL or comfort with BI tools is a plus.
Experience owning a product area that involved payment flows, a cashier/checkout, or financial transactions of any kind.
Excellent written communication — able to write PRDs and stakeholder updates that are clear, specific, and actionable.
Experience working with third-party platforms and APIs where the local team does not own the core infrastructure.
Comfortable operating in a regulated environment and working closely with compliance and legal stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management — able to influence without direct authority across engineering, marketing, CRM, and commercial teams.
Based in Cape Town, or willing to relocate; able to work hybrid (minimum 4 days in office).
Desired / Bonus Skills
Experience in online gambling, sports betting, casino, or a related vertical.
Familiarity with the South African payments landscape — EFT, Ozow, Peach Payments, card acquiring.
Knowledge of WCGRB licensing requirements, FICA/KYC obligations, or FAIS-adjacent regulatory frameworks.
Prior experience working with a platform business (Entain, SBTech, Kambi, OpenBet, or similar).
Experience building or optimising casino game lobbies, bonus engines, or RGS integrations.
Experience using AI tools to support product management work — e.g. AI-assisted PRD/user-story drafting, automated analysis of funnel or performance data, or AI-supported competitor and market-trend monitoring — to move faster from data to a shipped fix.
