About Phorest
Phorest started in 2002 on a busy salon reception desk as a simple text-reminder tool.
Today, we're a SaaS company and a trusted partner to over 155,000 hair, beauty and medspa professionals worldwide. Our all-in-one software and AI-driven tools help them manage bookings, take payments, market their services, grow their client base and get the best from their teams.
Everything we build helps the salon and medspa industry thrive.
We're also a Certified B Corp, and 25% of the company is owned by Phoresters. When the company grows, everyone has a stake in that.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an Australia-based Product Marketing Manager to give this high-growth market our dedicated, full-time focus within our Product organisation.
Sitting directly alongside our Australian commercial teams, you will take full ownership of ensuring that what we build globally lands with genuine impact locally. You will translate product capabilities into compelling customer narratives that reflect how Australian salon and clinic owners actually talk, work, and grow their businesses.
You won't be starting from zero. You will plug into established launch playbooks and share learnings with peer PMMs based in North America, DACH, and the UK and Ireland. Working during Australian business hours, you will lead local launch readiness, educate our regional Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams, and drive sustainable adoption and revenue growth across the region.
What You'll Do
Customer and Market Intelligence: Act as the strategic voice of the Australian customer. Phorest strongly champions direct customer contact, so you will regularly jump on calls with local salon, spa, and clinic owners to understand how they run their day-to-day, what causes friction, and the actual language they use. You'll also have the option to attend key local customer and industry events alongside our regional Sales and Marketing teams. While event travel isn't mandatory, our PMMs find it one of the most effective ways to meet clients and prospects face-to-face, soak up market dynamics, and gather unfiltered feedback.
Narrative and Positioning: Own how our products are positioned in Australia. Take global feature sets and translate them into human, ‘feelings over features’ customer stories that cut through technical jargon and resonate directly with local operators.
Commercial Partnership and Strategic Enablement: Work hand in hand with our regional Sales, Customer Success, and Education teams on the ground. Act as a strategic partner rather than an order taker. You will listen to field feedback, push back constructively on low-impact ad hoc requests, and build the foundational talk tracks, battlecards, and objection guides that set local teams up to hit regional revenue and retention targets.
GTM Execution and Launch Readiness: Lead regional go-to-market execution for product releases. Partner closely with Product Ops and peer PMMs across other regions to keep launch milestones on track, ensuring local commercial teams are thoroughly trained, confident, and equipped with client-facing materials before features go live.
Experimental Communication: Bring a curious, test-and-learn mindset to how we reach the market. If standard channels like email or webinars aren't landing with local customers or sales teams, proactively test new formats, messaging angles, and delivery methods to drive engagement and adoption.
What Success Looks Like
There is always a clear line between your day-to-day work and the region's commercial objectives.
Regional Sales, CS, and Marketing teams feel confident pitching new capabilities because your messaging reflects how Australian salon and clinic owners actually talk and work.
Local customer-facing teams actively bring you into customer challenges and rely on your strategic advice, viewing you as an indispensable partner rather than an order taker.
You stay self-directed and productive during Australian business hours while maintaining smooth, asynchronous alignment with teammates across other time zones.
Who You Are
You are a curious, commercially minded storyteller who loves turning complex product features into clear, relatable stories. You enjoy setting other people up for success, and you get genuine satisfaction from doing the deep groundwork that helps customer-facing teams shine in front of clients.
You'll thrive in this role if you are:
You bring a calm head to shifting priorities and view the absence of rigid process as an opportunity to build practical solutions that leave a mark.
You listen carefully to what sales and commercial teams ask for, but step back and evaluate the bigger picture before jumping into execution.
You don't need a huge army of specialists to get things done; you're comfortable rolling up your sleeves to write clean copy, pull your own Looker reports, and test ideas directly.
You enjoy having daily ownership over your calendar and priorities. You know when to run ahead independently and when to sync asynchronously with global counterparts, with the flexibility to occasionally overlap with European/US hours to connect with your manager and global peers.
What You Bring
Typically 3 to 5 years of Product Marketing experience (or equivalent B2B/Vertical SaaS commercial experience), with a track record of taking features to market and driving adoption.
Demonstrated experience marketing to distinct, niche audiences or complex ecosystems where different users within the same business have different motivations.
Practical experience across the full product marketing lifecycle, including customer research, positioning, messaging, launch planning, and sales enablement.
Comfort using Looker (or similar BI dashboard tools) to evaluate adoption numbers, track funnel metrics, and assess launch performance.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to strip away jargon and articulate value simply to both technical teams and busy business owners.

Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalised folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
