๐Ÿ’œ About Us

At Loyal Guru, we help enterprise retailers, grocers, and financial institutions unlock the power of customer loyalty. Our SaaS platform empowers brands to increase repeat purchase revenue, reduce churn, and deliver personalized experiences that drive long-term growth. We are in a strong scale-up phase, rapidly expanding across Europe and Latin America, and we are looking for talented individuals to help us continue this journey.

๐ŸŽฏ About the role

Loyal Guru is an AI-driven loyalty and promotions platform for enterprise retailers. We're hiring a Technical Product Owner with an engineering background who is comfortable writing SQL and digging into data.

The role has two phases:

  • Phase 1 (4-6 months): you are the Product Owner of our Loyalty Engine team, covering its PO during a leave and owning the backlog and day-to-day delivery.

  • Phase 2: you become the Product Owner of our Analytics team: you own its product roadmap and define with our clients the dashboards they need, while staying hands-on โ€” you write queries, solve data support cases, and validate or even build dashboards when needed.

๐ŸŒŸ What you'll do

Phase 1 โ€” Product Owner, Loyalty Engine

  • Guide the team day to day: set clear priorities, unblock people and keep everyone focused on the same goal.

  • Own and prioritize the team's backlog, keeping it clear, sized and ready for the next sprint.

  • Write user stories with acceptance criteria that engineers can build and QA can test.

  • Run the team's ceremonies (refinement, planning, review) together with the engineering lead.

  • Be the link between engineering, Customer Success and clients: clarify requirements and keep stakeholders updated.

  • Follow up on incidents and post-mortem actions so nothing stays open without an owner.

Phase 2 โ€” Technical Product Owner, Analytics

  • Own and define the Analytics product roadmap: work with our key retail clients and internal stakeholders to decide which dashboards, data models and data exports to build, based on their business needs.

  • Write SQL queries (BigQuery) to answer client and internal questions, investigate data issues and check numbers.

  • Go down to the detail whenever a problem needs it, from the roadmap to a single query or one client's data.

  • Solve or triage analytics support tickets before they reach engineering.

  • Validate new and changed dashboards against the source data before they go to clients, and build one yourself when the team needs it.

  • Write clear functional specs and document how each metric is calculated.

โœ… What we're looking for

  • Organized and methodical: you keep backlogs, specs and documentation tidy, follow a process and close what you open.

  • Clear communication: you explain priorities and decisions simply, in English and Spanish, to engineers, Customer Success and clients alike.

  • Motivated to guide teams: you enjoy leading a team towards a goal, keep people aligned and take ownership when things get stuck.

  • Smart and driven: you learn fast, you're curious and you want to grow with the role.

  • Engineering background: a degree in engineering, computer science, maths or a similar technical field.

  • 3โ€“5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business/Data Analyst or in a similar role working with engineering teams.

  • Solid SQL: you write joins, aggregations and window functions on your own and can tell when a number looks wrong.

  • Hands-on: you're happy to go into the detail yourself, from a query to building a dashboard, instead of only delegating.

  • Strong logical thinking: you break a problem into steps and find the root cause instead of the first plausible answer.

๐Ÿคฉ Nice to have

  • Experience with BigQuery or another cloud data warehouse.

  • Experience with BI tools (building or validating dashboards) is a strong plus.

  • Knowledge of loyalty programs (points, tiers, rewards), CRM, promotions or retail data.

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.

  • Basic Python for data checks or small automations.

What we offer

  • A permanent position with a clear path: from Product Owner of Loyalty Engine to owning the Analytics product area.

  • Ideally hybrid work from our Barcelona office.

  • A product team building AI-driven loyalty and promotions for some of Europe's and Latin America's leading retailers.
