The Role
We are looking for a Product Quality Engineer to lead quality execution for the Propulsion Systems – CSS Prime engine family through the Program Execution Team and Continuous Improvements Team. You will keep program imperatives on track by making sure the right issues show up with the right data, owners, and decisions at the right time.
You will work closely with the Program Team, Product Development, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Aftersales to turn data and meeting outputs into clear actions. You will be the eyes and voice of the customer, connecting requirements to real-world performance while protecting our business and brand.
The position will be responsible for the Product Development Quality & Continuous Improvement activities for Propulsion Systems.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the quality agenda for CSS Prime engine programs, ensuring safety and key quality risks are clearly identified, owned, monitored, and resolved.
- Serve as the Voice of Quality to regional and global program execution teams, including Powertrain Architecture Process Integration Review (PET/PAPIR), and lead continuous improvement activities through CPIP.
- Assess whether quality targets and program deliverables are being met, drive customer satisfaction, and escalate risks or support needs to leadership in a timely manner.
- Analyze program data—including FMEAs, DVP/V, build issues, problem-resolution activities, timing charts, and quality metrics—to identify patterns, risks, priorities, and emerging issues for PET/PAPIR discussions.
- Analyze Program Content Change Requests for field and customer impact, including warranty and cost implications, and provide quality input to the design-change process.
- Deploy quality deliverables according to the development timing plan, chair Program Quality health-check reviews, and coordinate overall program health execution through LTR.
- Support global launch processes in accordance with the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP), including Launch Team activities, business plans, metrics, and program quality-readiness deliverables.
- Execute the Global Program Quality Plan Process (GPQP), including program reviews, product and competitor assessments, quality audits, and vehicle rides.
- Plan, implement, and execute the quality fleet evaluation process (CTF).
- Partner with Service, Plant Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to drive cross-functional problem resolution.
- Track propulsion quality performance across Warranty, Compass, QFS, QAS, Consumer Reports, Reliability & Durability, Buybacks, NPS, W&P, and other relevant indicators.
- Monitor source metrics to identify emerging issues that may affect the sales region and proactively address identified issues in production and vehicle yards.
- Develop, drive, and track actions to improve warranty performance, Compass results, and the overall customer experience.
- Conduct technical data analysis and reporting, using AI and digital tools such as copilots and dashboards to accelerate detection, prioritization, and decision-making.
- Champion digital transformation and AI integration initiatives that improve plant efficiency, real-time quality monitoring, and data-driven decision-making.
- Identify and implement process-improvement opportunities, support Customer Experience initiatives, and contribute to Launch Excellence activities.
- Propose, develop, and execute quality initiatives that support customer satisfaction and strategic business priorities.
- Support innovation projects and other strategic initiatives as required.
