Is this job info correct?

At Aftershoot, we’re building more than just AI tools; we’re building a global community of photographers who spend less time behind their screens and more time behind the lens. Every feature we create, every update we ship, is designed to make post-processing easier, faster, and smarter for photographers around the world. From culling to editing to retouching. Our AI tools do all the heavy lifting, so photographers can focus on what they do best: capturing moments, telling stories, and creating magic.

We’re a fast-growing, passionate team backed over 100K+ active users globally.

But we’re just getting started. Our mission is clear: solve the biggest pain points in photography, and keep evolving with photographers who use our tools daily.

If you care deeply about building meaningful products, working with curious and driven teammates, and being part of a team that genuinely loves what they do, we’d love to meet you.

Let’s create the future of AI in photography, together.

🚀 About the Role

A wedding photographer shoots 4,000 photos on a Saturday.

Before Aftershoot, that meant three nights hunched over a screen, clicking through near-identical frames, missing dinner, missing their kids, missing the life they take pictures of for everyone else.

With Aftershoot, it takes an hour.

That hour is the entire product. 100,000+ photographers around the world trust us with it. Culling, editing, retouching - our AI does the grunt work so they can go back to doing the thing they actually love.

Which means when we ship a bug, we don't ship an inconvenience. We ship somebody's ruined Sunday. That's where you come in.

Responsibilities

Every engineer here builds a piece of the product. The PM holds the plan for it. Design holds the intent.

You're the only person on the team whose entire job is to know what the product actually does.

Not what the ticket said. Not what the spec promised. What happens when a photographer drags in 12,000 RAW files, loses Wi-Fi halfway through, closes the laptop lid, and reopens it four hours later on battery.

We're not hiring you to tick boxes on a test sheet. You'll write code, own an automation suite, and hold the call on whether something is fit to go in front of 100,000 photographers. We're hiring you to become the person we can't ship without.

Here's the bar we're setting, out loud:

Six months in, when an engineer and a PM disagree about how a flow is supposed to behave, someone in that room should say "just ask [your name]" and that settles it.

You will know this product better than the people who built it. That's not a stretch goal. That's the job.

Required Skills

  • Basic programming in JavaScript or TypeScript

  • Comfort with browser developer tools

  • A grasp of testing fundamentals — test cases, severity, the defect lifecycle, what regression actually means

  • Sharp analytical instincts and genuinely strong attention to detail

  • Clear written and verbal communication (a bug report is writing)

  • Real eagerness to learn automation, not just tolerance for it

  • BE/B.Tech, BCA, MCA, or B.Sc in CS/IT — freshers and final-year students very welcome

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

  • Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress

  • Git / GitHub

  • REST APIs and API testing

  • Anything you've built and shipped yourself, however small

You will work with

  1. Captain: Neha

  2. Team Members: Vikas, Aditi and the rest of the Aftershoot team.
