This senior hands-on role requires deep expertise in post-trade operations, back-office technology and ASX CHESS workflows. The successful candidate will act as the link between clients, Product, Engineering, Support, Service Management and Account Management – translating business needs into practical technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own the product from a technical and operational perspective, with strong knowledge of Australian post-trade market practices and CHESS workflows.
- Lead solution design for client requirements, BAU changes, product enhancements and market-driven initiatives acting as a conduit to convey requirements to engineering teams
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex production incidents, working with clients and internal teams to identify quick, pragmatic workarounds and sustainable resolutions.
- Support client service reviews, release planning, root-cause analysis, risk management and continuous service improvement.
- Provide subject-matter expertise for new client implementations, upgrades and migrations across Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and the wider APAC region.
- Partner with Sales and Account Management on pre-sales opportunities, including client workshops, solution proposals, scope definition, estimates and implementation planning.
- Communicate complex post-trade and technical concepts clearly to business, operations, technology and senior stakeholder audiences.
- Work effectively across geographically distributed teams, time zones and client organizations.
You Profile
- 7–10 years’ experience working for a broker/dealer, financial-markets technology vendor, or in a comparable capital-markets technology environment.
- Strong experience in capital markets, post-trade operations, clearing, settlement, custody or back-office systems.
- Strong understanding of Australian equities operations and ASX CHESS workflows.
- Proven experience implementing, supporting or integrating post-trade or back-office technology platforms.
- Strong technical capability, including an understanding of system architecture, interfaces, data flows and solution design.
- Ability to read and understand code and technical logs in order to troubleshoot issues effectively, investigate root causes and develop a detailed understanding of the platform.
- Experience managing client escalations, production incidents, BAU change and operational risks.
- Experience supporting pre-sales, client solution workshops or implementation scoping.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt between business and technical audiences.
- Strong judgement, problem-solving ability and a calm, practical approach in high-pressure situations.
This role is suited to a post-trade specialist who combines technical depth, client credibility and commercial awareness, and who can help drive successful client outcomes and business growth in Australia and the wider APAC region.
