GRW Talent’s client is a world leading entry systems product manufacturer, manufacturing for direct clients and operating as a sub-contract manufacturer. Part of a well known multi-national group, the business continues to grow from strength to strength in the UK and internationally.
Future growth of both their production capacity and capability and subsequent warehouse and logistics in the UK and ultimately EU, means they now need to recruit a Production and Supply Chain Leader.
Reporting to the UK Managing Director and as a key member of the UK Leadership Team, the Production and Supply Chain Operations Leader will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy across manufacturing operations, procurement, planning, inventory management, warehousing and logistics functions. With a heavy slant to helping build and execute the strategy towards increased production capacity and the impact this has on the warehouse and logistics function, the role will have key input into delivering a “to be” 2030 plan and bringing continuous improvement wins across the production and supply chain landscape. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement a supply chain strategy that supports business objectives and future growth.
- Provide leadership and direction to manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency and productivity targets are achieved.
- Lead capacity planning and resource optimisation to meet customer demand.
- Oversee procurement strategy and supplier management to ensure continuity of supply and value creation.
- Develop robust supply chain processes that minimise risk and maximise service performance.
- Lead logistics and warehouse operations to ensure timely and cost-effective product delivery.
- Ensure effective management of distribution networks and third-party logistics providers.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Manage departmental budgets and deliver agreed financial targets.
Educated to degree calibre or time served, you are an experienced Production or Operations Manager with a strong foundation, understanding or direct experience in supply chain management (warehouse and logistics management preferred). Candidates will need to have a very good understanding of capacity planning and S&OP, alongside proven experience of driving strategic continuous improvement and transformational culture change into a scaling business.
This will suit candidates from a range of manufacturing backgrounds. We would be especially keen to hear from candidates who have worked in the design, build, manufacture and shipment of OEM products, those with experience of aftermarket / infield support or high SKU type products.
In return, this role represents a unique opportunity for a driven and highly ambitious production and supply chain leader ready to step into a UK wide leadership team, encompassing a large manufacturing and warehouse site and two large warehouse and logistic hubs. The business is expanding production capacity, capability and geographically.
Your base salary of £80-90,000 per annum is supplemented by a potential 20% bonus, 6% ER pension / 3% EE pension, £500 car allowance, x3 life assurance and healthcare cash plan; making for an excellent all-round deal.
Candidates should expect c 25-30% annual travel across to other UK sites.
