Company Description

Ibra Studios is an independent film production and development studio working across the UK, UAE and Pakistan. The studio develops and produces research-driven, culturally curious films, with a particular interest in stories connecting South Asia, the Gulf and the UK.

Ibra Studios is committed to thoughtful storytelling, professional production workflows and collaborative filmmaking. The studio works across the full production lifecycle, from project development and pre-production through to production, post-production, festivals and distribution.

Role Description

This is a part-time, project-based remote role for a Production Assistant at Ibra Studios.

The Production Assistant will support producers and production teams across multiple stages of filmmaking, from development and pre-production through to filming and post-production.

Responsibilities may include assisting producers and production managers with schedules, production documents, crew coordination, location and supplier research, travel and equipment logistics, production administration and general project organisation.

During production, the Production Assistant may work alongside producers, the Assistant Director and departmental leads to support communication between departments, assist with production logistics and help ensure that the shoot runs efficiently.

Post-production support may include organising project files and assets, coordinating communications between editors and other post-production departments, tracking deadlines and assisting with the delivery of project materials.

This role is suited to someone who is organised, proactive and interested in developing practical experience across independent film production.

Qualifications

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • An understanding of the filmmaking process from pre-production through to post-production.
  • Ability to assist with schedules, production documents, project trackers and general production administration.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence coordinating with producers, crew and creative departments.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, following up on outstanding tasks and supporting the wider production team.
  • Strong attention to detail when handling schedules, documents, files, assets and deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a remote production environment.
  • Comfortable using digital collaboration and project-management tools.
  • Basic understanding of editing and post-production workflows is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in film production, media, theatre, events or a related field is beneficial but not essential.
  • Relevant education or training in film, media, communications, production or a related discipline is advantageous.

Location

This is a remote, part-time, project-based opportunity. Applicants should indicate their preferred location and availability when applying.

Ibra Studios is currently building its production network across the UK, UAE and Pakistan, with opportunities potentially available in London, Dubai/Abu Dhabi and Lahore.

Depending on the project, the role may involve occasional in-person production activity, meetings, location work or filming within the relevant territory.

Engagement

This is a voluntary, part-time and project-based opportunity. Ibra Studios works on a project-by-project basis, so the level of involvement, responsibilities and duration will vary depending on the production.

While the role is initially offered on a voluntary basis, paid opportunities may be available on individual projects depending on production budgets, experience and scope of responsibilities. Applicants are welcome to indicate whether they are seeking paid project work, voluntary experience or are open to both.

Where applicable, project-related expenses may be covered or agreed in advance.

Why Ibra Studios?

The role provides an opportunity to work directly alongside producers and production teams and gain practical experience across multiple stages of independent filmmaking.

You may contribute to projects across the UK, UAE and Pakistan and gain exposure to production coordination, development, international co-production, post-production and festival/distribution processes.

As part of a growing independent studio, Production Assistants can gain visibility across different areas of production rather than being limited to a single department.

How to Apply

Please submit a CV or LinkedIn profile and a short note explaining your experience, preferred location, availability and the areas of production you are most interested in supporting. We are particularly interested in people who are proactive, curious and want to contribute to building an international independent film company.
