Job Description:

An opportunity for a Production Control Specialist has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join the Spacecraft Production Spain team within the Spacecraft MAIT (Manufacture, Assembly, Integration, and Test) perimeter. This multidisciplinary and international team oversees the execution, planning, and operational flow required to deliver flight hardware for major space programs. The jobholder will act as a pivotal link between shop-floor assembly lines and project stakeholders, driving digitalization, standardization, and delivery milestones under demanding production schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

  • Drive operational production planning: Manage end-to-end Work Orders (from release to closure using pull flow logic) and run daily routines to monitor assembly progress, parts availability, and priority realignment.
  • Control material flow and inventory: Execute MRP management, plant warehouse tracking, stock control, and Kanban replenishment to ensure component readiness for critical assembly phases.
  • Mitigate material and logistic risks: Proactively identify parts shortages, manage non-conformities, resolve parasitic flows (cannibalization, missing parts, delivery discrepancies), and steer mitigation protocols.
  • Coordinate cross-functional interfaces: Partner continuously with AIT Managers, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Logistics to unblock operational bottlenecks and manage transfer of work responsibilities.
  • Deliver operational reporting: Track and report EAC (Estimate at Completion), supply performance, and manufacturing KPIs to secure program visibility and schedule compliance.
  • Lead continuous improvement and digitalization: Implement activity standardization, lean manufacturing initiatives, and digital shop-floor tools to enhance production control efficiency.

SKILLS

Is your profile aligned to the following list of skills? Apply! We are looking forward to meeting you:

  • Education: Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification/vocational training in Production Management or Logistics.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in production control, shop-floor planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Technical knowledge: Proficiency in ERP systems (specifically SAP / MRP management), inventory control methodologies (Kanban, pull flows), and production KPI tracking.
  • Soft skills: Dynamic problem-solver with high resilience, strong priority-management skills under tight deadlines, and the ability to collaborate effectively in transnational, multicultural teams.
  • Languages: Advanced level in English (essential for transnational coordination).
