Job Summary:
We are seeking a Production Manager to support our unannounced CG animated feature film.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee day-to-day and week-to-week production progress, maintaining visibility into the timely and efficient completion of the film.
- Help ensure milestones and quotas are met, and provide schedule course-corrections and workflow optimizations as project needs evolve.
- Establish and maintain departmental best practices and consistency across the show and across locations.
- Partner closely with the Associate Producer, Producer, and VFX Supervisor to track film complexity, assess production needs, and support changing priorities.
- Oversee the management of production calendars and support planning around key creative and production needs.
- Ensure production data, materials, and metrics are accurately tracked and maintained, including through Flow Production Tracker, in order to identify risks and flag problem areas.
- Troubleshoot schedule, workflow, and delivery challenges to support the timely completion of sequences.
- Support day-to-day staff planning, including workload, overtime, and vacation management.
- Work with Department Leaders, Artist Management, and Talent Development & Training to identify show-specific training needs and support implementation.
- Lead with inclusivity, collaboration, and accountability, helping to create an environment where team members can do their best work.
- Support the development of team members through clear expectations, feedback, and partnership with Production leadership and Artist Management.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration across teams, departments, and locations, and provide regular updates to Production and Studio leadership on team progress, health, and priorities.
- Partner closely with peers and studio teams to support an inclusive, innovative, and collaborative production environment.
What You’ll Need:
- 5+ years of experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar production management role on feature films.
- Strong knowledge of CG pipelines, workflows, and production management across CG departments.
- Strong understanding of pre-production workflows, including storyboarding, editorial, and visual development.
- Experience recruiting, training, and supervising production management staff.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to assess production challenges and make thoughtful decisions that support creative goals, schedule, and budget.
- Ability to navigate competing priorities, shifting needs, and challenging situations with sound judgment.
- Experience working cross-functionally and across locations in a collaborative production environment.
- A strong affinity for filmmaking and animated films in particular.
Location:
This role is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Hybrid Role (Minimum requirement of 3 days a week in the office).
At NAS, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The overall market range for this role is typically $95,000-141,000 CAD. This reflects total compensation; we do not have bonuses.
