Your Role
Production Services Technicians keep the studio's data and media moving. You'll handle production data from the first client turnover to the final archive. You'll also write and improve the tools that make that work fast and reliable.

• Ingest and deliveries: Receive plates, references, and turnovers from clients and vendors, and send out finals and review media. Check that everything meets show specs for naming, resolution, colour space, codecs, and security.
• Render farm: Watch and prioritize the render queue, fix failed jobs, and make sure farm resources are used well. Bring in artists, production, or IT when needed.
• Media prep: Prepare media for artists, dailies, internal reviews, and client sessions, and automate as much of that as you can.
• Tools and automation: Write and maintain Python and shell tools for transfers, media conversion, review prep, and delivery packaging, and keep improving them as each show goes on.
• Support: Explain technical issues clearly to both artists and producers. Document workflows and tools so the rest of the team can rely on them.
• Coverage: Be flexible on shift times during busy delivery periods, including occasional evenings and weekends.

What we're looking for

• Comfortable working on Linux from the command line
• Solid Python and Bash scripting skills, and experience with Git
• Organized and detail-oriented; you notice problems early
• Able to juggle several urgent requests calmly
• Clear communicator with a helpful, service-minded attitude
• Nice to have: experience with VFX, post, or media; familiarity with Nuke, OpenColorIO, ffmpeg/OIIO, render managers, AWS Deadline, or production tracking tools; basic networking or storage knowledge
