Professional Negligence Associate | Bristol | Hybrid Working

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Professional & Financial Risks Associate to join a highly regarded and growing insurance litigation team in Bristol.

The team is recognised in the leading legal directories for its professional negligence work and acts for a strong portfolio of major insurers and professional services firms. With a varied caseload, high-quality work and opportunities to build client relationships, this is an attractive opportunity for a litigator looking to develop their expertise within a specialist practice.

The Role

You’ll handle a varied caseload of professional indemnity claims, acting for insurers and insured professionals across a range of sectors, including solicitors, accountants, insurance brokers and financial advisers.

The work will cover both pre-litigation and litigated liability claims, alongside policy coverage issues and related regulatory and advisory matters. Claims will range in value from tens of thousands of pounds to multi-million-pound disputes.

Working closely with experienced partners and colleagues, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of matters, develop your technical expertise and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

There will also be scope to get involved in business development, client initiatives and wider team development.

About You

  • A qualified solicitor with around 2+ years’ PQE, or equivalent relevant experience
  • A solid background in litigation or dispute resolution
  • Insurance or professional negligence experience would be advantageous, but is not essential
  • Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills, with a commercially minded approach.
  • An interest in developing your technical expertise and contributing to business development.

Why Apply?

  • Join an established, highly regarded team with an impressive client base and exposure to complex, high-value work
  • Excellent scope for career development and progression within a growing team, with opportunities to build your expertise and take on increasing responsibility
  • Benefit from a supportive, collaborative working environment where you’ll have the opportunity to make a real contribution to the team’s continued growth
  • Enjoy flexible hybrid working, with just two days a week in the office, offering a good balance between collaboration and flexibility
