Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, University of Chicago Medicine , as a Program Coordinator in the Pulmonary Hypertension department . This position requires you to work onsite 2 days per week. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. The Pulmonary Hypertension Program Coordinator is a registered nurse who supports the day-to-day clinical and operational activities of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program. This role provides exemplary, patient-centered care while coordinating clinical services, care delivery, and program logistics to ensure a seamless and positive patient experience. The coordinator serves as a key liaison among patients, providers, nursing staff, and program leadership, helping to facilitate timely communication, resolve operational challenges, and promote accountability and collaboration across the multidisciplinary team. The role also coordinates the planning and execution of educational programs, learning sessions, seminars, workshops, and webinars, managing clinical and administrative details from design and development through delivery. Working collaboratively with Pulmonary Hypertension team members and leaders, the Program Coordinator supports program growth, quality improvement, clinical excellence, and consistent implementation of program priorities while serving as a role model for professionalism, respect, and accountability. Essential Job Functions Address incoming phone calls (call center), epic in-basket (PH pool) and PPH email inbox Timely triage of patient concerns, symptoms and requests PH specific medication prior authorization and the follow up appeal, if required PH specific medication enrollment process (for both outpatients and inpatients) and the subsequent maintenance requirements Assisting with inpatient parenteral prostacyclin initiation or continuation of already established parenteral prostacyclin for patients admitted to the hospital Inpatient/Outpatient patient education on home parenteral prostacyclin management, central line and subcutaneous site care, importance of medication compliance Diagnostic testing scheduling : Following up that other diagnostic testing is appropriately scheduled by clinic coordinator staff. If not, facilitate timely scheduling. Maintain internal pulmonary hypertension database PHAR registry Manages the logistical and administrative work to ensure all programs run smoothly in a cost-effective and efficient manner. Develop e-learning materials, administer LMS, and maintain the web page for the Talent and Organization Capability department. Provide administrative support for the Director and the department team members. Implement processes and practices to provide an ideal employee experience for all participants. Maintain records for attendance, program evaluations, expenses, and vendor tracking. Performs other duties as requested. Required Qualifications Graduate of an approved school of nursing; BSN required. A minimum of 3-5 years’ progressive organizational development professional and/or learning and development, preferably in an educational, healthcare, or biomedical environment. Extensive skill and practical use of software, web-based, and cloud-based applications including MS Office, Visio, MS Project, and LMS Administration. Exemplary communication and customer service skills with proven experience.
