Program Manager – Companion Animal

Role Summary:

Our client (Humane World International) is looking for a highly motivated individual to take on the leadership of the program in Chile and build a strong network to ensure its continuity.

The Companion Animals “Program Manager” leads the strategic planning, field implementation, logistics, and partner management for Humane World International’s companion animal initiatives across Chile. This role balances direct oversight of a mobile spay/neuter veterinary unit with stakeholder engagement, cross-departmental coordination, media communications, and budget management to advance animal welfare nationwide.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in animal welfare, veterinary management, non-profit administration, or social sciences.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in similar positions.
• Language: Professional fluency in Spanish (written/spoken) and advanced proficiency in English.
• Skills: Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in high-stress environments. Strong project management, scheduling, and logistical coordination capacity. Established network within Chilean animal welfare networks or municipal bodies (highly preferred). Competency in managing program budgets and data reporting systems.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Workplace: Hybrid mix of office planning, remote communication, and active field operations at high-volume mobile clinic sites.
• Field Climate: Periodic exposure to loud environments (barking dogs), hazardous clinic materials, variable outdoor weather conditions, and tight physical spaces.
• Mobility: Occasional domestic travel across Chilean cities and regions for meetings, workshops, and field site monitoring.
• Physical Effort: Light to moderate physical effort required (occasionally moving equipment/supplies up to 20–50 lbs).
