MENTOR is recruiting for an experienced Programme Manager with a background in public health, epidemiology or related fields to join the team in HQ supporting large-scale disease control programmes in humanitarian settings.


We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with the following:

  • Experience of working in conflict and humanitarian settings.
  • Extensive experience managing health/humanitarian programmes and experience with donors.
  • Familiarity with NGO working environments and standard procedures.
  • Highly organised with good coordination / project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in Portuguese or Spanish.

  • Team coordination: Be responsible for the non-financial and non-administrative coordination of in-country programmes including managing Country Directors or officer in charge.


  • Programme operations: Provide direction to country teams to ensure programmes are implemented effectively using standardised technical systems and acceptable practice.


  • Technical support: Support country programme teams with technical advice and guidance to ensure we deliver high-quality programme activities across areas such as vector-borne disease control, NTDs, WASH and healthcare provision.


  • Grant management and programme reporting: Ensure the timely compiling and submission of reports in line with reporting requirements and timelines.


  • Strategic development: Work with the CEO, SMT and country managers to assess relevance and impact of operations, and monitor countries at high risk of VBDs for natural disasters, conflict, population displacement and epidemic risk factors.


  • Other: The PM will work with the CEO, SMT and country teams to support new technical proposal development, and assist in representing MENTOR at international meetings and conferences.
