Job Summary

The Program Operations Coordinator is a junior member of the Program Management team, working alongside Project Managers and Program Managers to support delivery across the team’s portfolio. The role’s primary focus is coordinating the implementation and ongoing maintenance of imagery access guidelines. This includes tracking operational updates, maintaining accurate documentation, facilitating access requirements, coordinating with stakeholders, and reporting support. The coordinator also provides GIS-related support to other projects and programs, contributing across team priorities as needs evolve. This position builds experience in geospatial operations, cross-functional coordination, and program delivery, with potential to grow into broader project management responsibilities over time.

Success requires navigating complex and evolving environments, building cross-functional alignment, maintaining visibility into operational impacts, and delivering timely, sustainable outcomes.

  • Ensure new restricted areas, approved exceptions, and changes to existing restrictions are implemented accurately, on time, and in accordance with requirements.
  • Maintain authoritative, complete, traceable, and accessible records of restrictions, exceptions, effective and expiration dates, decisions, implementation status, and supporting documentation.
  • Validate that operational systems reflect current restrictions and approved exceptions; coordinate resolution of discrepancies.
  • Assess impacts, dependencies, implementation complexity, readiness requirements, and business-disruption risks; facilitate readiness reviews and go/no-go decisions as appropriate.
  • Facilitate access request audit activities, including preparation, evidence collection, issue tracking, corrective actions, and closure.
  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting on status, trends, exceptions, risks, issues, and implementation activity.
  • Contribute to process improvements efforts to improve access request processes, exception workflows, auditability, consistency, and efficiency while supporting stabilization, ownership transition, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Geography, or a related field plus two or more years of professional experience. If no Bachelor’s degree, equivalent professional experience is acceptable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond promptly to time-sensitive requests and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to assess complex or unusual requests, identify missing information, ask clarifying questions, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to track multiple requests or projects from intake through closure and maintain accurate records.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and tracking tools, including managing multiple trackers concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary, geographically distributed team.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling customer, data access, or other sensitive information.
