You will be traveling to clients' locations, analyzing system requirements, writing and installing custom programmable logic code, testing system efficiency, and providing operational support.

To ensure success as a PLC programmer, you should have excellent knowledge of machine mechanics, a logical approach, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. A skilled PLC programmer should be able to easily identify and design a robust program fit for any mechanical or electrical purpose.

Requirements

  • At least 3 year's experience as a PLC programmer.
  • Electrical and mechanical engineering experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and mechanical processes.
  • Knowledge of software design principals.
  • Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD software.
  • Detailed knowledge of PLC automation software and coding languages.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel when required.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and program PLC systems for industrial automation using platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi to control machines and processes efficiently.
• Read and interpret control philosophies, P&IDs, electrical drawings, and I/O lists to implement accurate and reliable control logic.
• Develop, test, and debug PLC programs along with HMI/SCADA screens to ensure smooth operation, monitoring, and alarm handling.
• Perform troubleshooting and fault analysis on PLC hardware, software, and field instruments to minimize downtime and production losses.
• Support system commissioning, FAT/SAT, and on-site startup activities to ensure automation systems meet project and safety requirements.
• Integrate PLCs with sensors, actuators, VFDs, safety systems, and communication networks for seamless system operation.
• Maintain proper documentation, backups, and version control of PLC programs while supporting system upgrades and process improvements.
