About the Role
As the Programmatic Media Manager, Amazon DSP, you'll lead strategy, execution, and optimization for clients' programmatic advertising campaigns on Amazon DSP. You'll ensure campaigns deliver on KPIs like efficient customer acquisition, DPV, engagement, and brand awareness—while building programmatic best practices across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and operationalize performance-driven programmatic strategies on Amazon DSP (and other DSPs as needed), including accurate setup, targeting, bidding strategies, and inventory sourcing.
- Own campaign success metrics, including incrementality, Detail Page Views, New to Brand, ROAS, eCPA, eCPC, viewability, frequency, and brand lift, and measure success by incremental impact rather than platform-attributed results alone
- Monitor and optimize campaigns daily, leveraging data to refine targeting, creative messaging, pacing, budgets, and performance.
- Conduct A/B and holdout testing to identify incremental gains and inform strategic decisions.[2]
- Bring a clear point of view: recommend tests and strategies that move the business, including pushing back on platform or retailer recommendations when the data says otherwise.
- Maintain tracking integrity with proper tagging, trafficking, and data validation; collaborate with analysts or data teams to enhance measurement.
- Be a subject-matter expert—educate internal teams (e.g., media planning, analytics, creative) on DSP capabilities and trends.
- Manage media budgets, pacing, forecasts, and reporting, delivering insights and narratives to stakeholders and clients.
- Own monthly spend reconciliation: actual vs. planned spend by client and channel, with invoice-ready reporting delivered by the 3rd business day.
- Test and introduce new DSP features, platforms, or advanced tactics (e.g., 1st-party data activation, new Amazon Ad Products, AMC, etc)
- Build custom AMC audience and reporting queries, and activate 1P/3P, DMP, Walmart, partner, and broker data for advanced programmatic targeting and insights.
Required Experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a self-serve Amazon DSP or The Trade Desk seat is required.
- Proven success managing programmatic campaigns, especially performance-driven goals and real-time bidding.
- Strong analytical abilities—Excel, dashboards, BI tools—for interpreting campaign performance and optimization.
- Familiarity with programmatic ad tech concepts: DSP, SSP, PMP, RTB, DCO, tracking, and ad serving.
- Experience with A/B testing frameworks and the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
- Excellent cross-functional communication: able to present results and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Agency experience or client-facing, consultative mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive Amazon Marketing Cloud experience and custom SQL query capabilities preferred.
- Passion for staying ahead of programmatic media trends and new DSP capabilities.
Voyageur Group Expectations
- Embodies our core values: Accountability, Teamwork, Growth Mindset, Proactivity and Empathy
- Strong presence, communication, and reliability.
- Agility to work across fast-paced, cross-functional environments effectively.
- Remote work proficiency with a balanced approach to manage priorities.
- Willingness to travel when needed for client meetings or media events.
