Project Accountant

THE OPPORTUNITY Global Prairie is seeking a versatile and organized team player with strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment to join our Accounting and Finance team as a Project Accountant. The Project Accountant has high visibility to company leadership and is primarily responsible for functioning as a finance partner to client-facing account teams for a portfolio of clients. Everyone at Global Prairie shares the following characteristics: Collaborative Optimistic Resilient Flexible Curious Philanthropic Strong candidates for this specific role will demonstrate: Strong detail orientation Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at once High level of comfort working in a fast-paced environment Discretion when handling confidential information Self-motivated and highly dependable Teamwork mindset Willingness to learn new systems and processes Learning mindset and openness to using AI tools to improve day-to-day efficiency, accuracy and process improvement ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS Working across the Accounting & Finance team, this individual will be responsible for: Financial management for a portfolio of clients, including: Leading the billing process and monitoring AR to ensure timely collection Monitoring overall project budget health Revenue recognition Ad hoc project reporting and analysis Assisting with media buy management, including media billing and reconciliations Ad hoc general ledger responsibilities, including reporting and analysis Identifying and implementing process improvements Serving as backup for other team members, as necessary Additionally, the ideal candidate meets these qualifications: Progressive experience in prior accounting and/or finance roles Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel Strong organizational and time management skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Analytical problem-solving skills Prior experience in agency or other type of professional services firm is preferred but not required WHAT GLOBAL PRAIRIE OFFERS We are a purpose-driven global marketing firm founded on the belief that business should be a force for good in the world. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK CONDITIONS The physical activity required of this position includes standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, reaching, stooping, talking, hearing and use of repetitive motion. Light work is required of this position, occasionally lifting or moving objects between 10-20 pounds. The visual acuity of this position requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
