Project Architect

Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Alaska Practice seeks to find a talented Project Architect. The ideal candidate will have experience in all phases of planning and design, is organized and collaborative. You will be working on a variety of projects of different sizes and complexities, coordinating with other design disciplines including engineering, developing client relationships and working with Architects and Engineering for our Alaska clients and beyond. We are looking for teammates who can create and foster solutions, maintain a fast-paced mindset, and are interested in participating within a growing practice.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Play a key technical leadership role and be an essential part of a project team working on all phases of a design project from Programming and Schematic Design through Construction Administration.
• Demonstrate technical skills on major projects.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Develop, review proposals, reports, and contract documents in accordance with Stantec policy.
• Lead project coordination and site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.
• Work with teams across multiple Stantec offices.
• Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, competitor/teaming partners, and potential recruits.
• Develop project specifications, including front end specifications.
• Help develop document standards.
• Participate in quality and quality control activities for projects.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Ability to coordinate among architecture and engineering disciplines on projects.
• Ability to work independently under the supervision of project manager.
• Ability to be organized, actively participate in projects understanding priorities and meeting deadlines.
• While our projects include a variety of private, municipal and state projects, we also focus on the federal market. The candidate must be eligible to work on federal projects, including USACE.
• Demonstrated design coordination and technical skills on projects of various sizes and complexities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization, coordination, collaborations, leadership, team-building skills.
• Proven coordination skills in guiding teams through projects utilizing Revit and AutoCAD for documentation.
• LEED credential is preferred, not required
• DB Certification is preferred, not required.
• Proven success in maintaining strong client relationships.
• Participate in business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, developing leads, and securing contracts.
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge or Bluebeam and Bluebeam Studio
• Matterport software knowledge preferred.
• Revit proficiency required.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
• Registered Architect in Alaska
• 6+ years of experience working with multi-discipline teams
