Project Chief Engineer (m/f/d)

Ihre Aufgaben

Technical leadership of a team of Systems Engineers with assigned responsibilities within the project, serving as the primary interface to Project Management and the customer for all technical and organizational matters
Definition and management of system requirements in close collaboration with Project Management
Establishment of the Systems Engineering process and Systems Engineering Plan, including the organization of workflows and collaboration between technical departments and Project Management
Definition of high-level technical concepts and system architectures to meet system requirements, in cooperation with Systems Engineers and subject matter experts
Preparation of cost, schedule, and performance forecasts throughout the project lifecycle
Organization of regular project checkpoints to monitor technical deliverables, schedule adherence, and cost performance, including assessment of ongoing development activities
Review, coordination, and control of the evolving system design
Acting as the technical authority for the system in the context of contract modifications, and initiating the implementation of agreed technical changes
Ensuring effective technical communication, information exchange, and collaboration within the project team, across internal departments, and with external partners

Ihre Qualifikationen

University degree (e.g., PhD, Master's degree, Diploma) in Engineering or a comparable qualification
Extensive and in-depth experience in the technical design and architecture of satellite ground stations
Relevant experience in the execution and delivery of projects within a military environment
Proven ability to provide technical leadership and, ideally, line management responsibility
Strong capabilities in motivating teams, delegating responsibilities, facilitating knowledge transfer, and building professional networks
High degree of flexibility and adaptability in addressing technical challenges
Strong team-oriented mindset and collaborative approach
Excellent communication, negotiation, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
Innovative mindset combined with strong decision-making capability
Holistic and systems-oriented way of thinking
Strong commercial awareness, including a solid understanding of project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements, with the ability to balance and prioritize quality, cost, and schedule objectives
Confident and persuasive presence, strategic thinking, and a strong entrepreneurial mindset
High level of customer focus, results orientation, and cost awareness
Excellent English language skills are required; German language skills are considered an advantage
