Role description:
At Arcadis, we're delivering some of the UK's most significant capital investment programmes across infrastructure, transportation and buildings. As our portfolio continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Project Controls Lead to join our Major Projects team and strengthen the controls capability supporting complex, high-value programmes.
This is a hands-on project controls role for someone with a strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and how cost, schedule and risk come together to provide a clear picture of project performance. You'll work with clients and project teams to establish effective controls, analyse performance, identify trends and provide the insight needed to support confident decision-making.
You'll bring a solid grounding in schedule and risk management, alongside cost control, and ideally experience implementing or improving project controls systems, processes and reporting. You'll have the opportunity to support programmes throughout their lifecycle, helping clients build robust, consistent and effective controls environments.
Role accountabilities:
- Leading cost management and cost engineering activities on major infrastructure and transportation projects.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering best-practice project controls solutions.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across project management, programme controls, cost and commercial, digital intelligence, advisory, design and engineering.
- Supporting the development and implementation of innovative digital cost management solutions.
- Promoting continuous improvement, standardisation and best practice across project controls functions.
- Contributing to the growth of Arcadis' global Project & Programme Controls community.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in cost management, cost engineering or project controls within infrastructure, transportation and/or buildings sectors.
- Strong understanding of cost management processes, governance and control systems on complex projects.
- Experience using industry cost management tools such as Deltek Cobra, Contruent, Oracle or similar platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and client-facing communication skills.
- Understanding of how cost management integrates with planning, risk, scope management and wider project controls disciplines.
- Experience working across multiple stages of the project lifecycle.
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Professional qualifications or memberships such as APM, RICS, ICEC, MSP or similar
