This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours. We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join the Asset Management team in River Health at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you? What we do! The River Health Team sits within Asset Management and plays a vital role in protecting and improving Yorkshire’s environment while supporting our 10-year strategy, “A Thriving Yorkshire, Right for Customers, Right for the Environment.” As Yorkshire Water continues to respond to new environmental legislation, significant investment programmes, and increasing customer and regulatory expectations, this is an exciting time to be part of a team shaping the future of water quality across the region. The team is responsible for delivering the Continuous Water Quality Monitoring (CWQM) programme, a key requirement arising from changes to Section 82 of the Environment Act 2021. With river health under greater scrutiny than ever, the programme aims to improve environmental performance while building trust and confidence with customers, regulators, and stakeholders. The Project Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of CWQM by working closely with project teams, operational colleagues, and external stakeholders. The role will help drive operational efficiency through well-managed meetings, standardised processes, clear schedules, and robust action tracking. It will also support project governance by ensuring risks and issues are identified early, mitigated proactively, and escalated where necessary. In addition, the Project Coordinator will contribute to effective financial management through cost tracking, forecasting, and invoice processing, while producing accurate reports to support informed decision-making. Through consistent communication, strong organisation, and governance compliance, the role will help maintain stakeholder confidence and ensure the successful delivery of this important environmental programme. Where you fit in! • Work closely with colleagues across the River Health Improvement, Environmental Reporting, and Regulatory Instrument Compliance Teams to support the successful delivery of the Continuous Water Quality Monitoring (CWQM) programme. • Collaborate with key teams across Strategy & Regulation, including Environmental Planning, Wastewater Portfolio, Strategic Partnerships, Biodiversity, Bathing Water and Education teams. • Build strong relationships with wastewater operational teams, including Bioresources, Process & Pumping, Customer Field Services (CFS), and Operational Intelligence. • Liaise with Internal Communications, External Communications, Media and Corporate Affairs teams to support consistent stakeholder engagement and communications. • Coordinate with a wide range of external stakeholders, including Rivers Trusts, the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, ecology consultants, delivery partners and third-party contractors. • Maintain key project controls by updating RAID logs, action trackers, project plans, dashboards and governance documentation, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date. • Support project governance through organising meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, coordinating workshops and reviews, and following up on actions, risks and deliverables. • Provide day-to-day project support through site visit coordination, document management and version control, and financial tracking and reporting to help ensure successful project delivery. What skills & qualifications you will need: • Experience in a Project Coordinator, PMO Support, or similar project delivery role, with an understanding of project governance and controls. • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders. • Proven experience of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, building positive relationships and maintaining clear communication. • Confidence in action tracking, minute taking, document management, reporting and maintaining project records to support effective project delivery. • Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint. • Knowledge of wastewater operations, river health, or the wider water industry, with an understanding of how operations and asset management support service delivery would be highly beneficial. • Awareness of the Environment Act 2021 Section 82 regulatory changes and Continuous Water Quality Monitoring (CWQM) requirements would be advantageous. • Full UK Driving Licence (essential). This role requires a hands-on approach, supporting the project team with site visits across the Yorkshire region, including locations that may be remote and not easily accessible by public transport. Although we operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it’s important to us that we support flexible working patterns and job share options (when we can), to help you make the best of both your work and home life.
