Job Description

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our Finance teams are important to our business and functional teams to make educated, sound decisions that drive our Mission and make us a stable and trusted industry leader. From Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, Treasury, Financial Reporting, Audit, Investor Relations, Strategy & Corporate Development to Accounting, our Finance functions have a diverse and global presence, providing significant opportunities to develop outstanding career experiences and perspectives.

How you will make an impact:

We are seeking an experienced finance delivery manager to oversee the end-to-end implementation of Oracle Financials from a functional perspective. You will partner closely with finance leaders, Group and Corporate IT, site teams, SOX, and implementation partners to define requirements, harmonize global processes, lead user testing, and drive successful adoption across the business.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in project management, ERP system implementation (preferably Oracle), and cross-functional collaboration. You will be instrumental in shaping and optimizing our finance processes, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and built for the future.

What you will do:

  • Lead business execution and readiness across the full implementation lifecycle, including requirements, testing, training, data conversion, cutover, Go-Live, hypercare, and stabilisation.

  • Coordinate business requirements with Workstream Leads, Super Users, and Subject Matter Experts, ensuring requirements are clearly documented, validated, approved, and traceable through delivery.

  • Lead the business testing strategy and execution, including test planning, UAT coordination, business validation, defect management, regression testing, and formal business sign-off.

  • Own business data readiness, coordinating data validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and sign-off for migration activities.

  • Lead business cutover planning and execution, ensuring activities, dependencies, ownership, and readiness criteria are clearly defined and completed.

  • Partner with the Training and Change Leads to coordinate training development, scheduling, communications, user readiness, and adoption.

  • Drive business readiness assessments, identifying gaps and ensuring appropriate remediation plans are in place ahead of key milestones and Go-Live.

  • Establish the Hypercare and stabilisation model in partnership with the IT Project Manager, including support structure, issue triage, escalation, and resolution processes.

  • Manage business risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions, escalating material concerns to the Business Programme Manager and project leadership as required.

  • Track and report business delivery status, providing clear visibility of progress, milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions, and readiness.

  • Collaborate across Business, IT, ETO, and implementation partners to ensure strong cross-functional alignment and successful end-to-end delivery.

A Day in the Life:

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across functions to continuously improve business processes and ensure seamless coordination.

  • Relationship Building: Develop strong working relationships with internal colleagues and leaders to enhance information exchange and project delivery.

  • Project Coordination: Ensure coordination across geographies, business areas, and functions for superior project and service delivery.

  • Future Shaping: Work with the program leadership on shaping and refining processes for the future, ensuring that our business operations remain cutting-edge and efficient.

  • Issue Resolution: Apply systems and tools to identify and address risks and issues, supporting teams to achieve key milestones in the Oracle Financials Implementation.

Keys to Success:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent formal academic/vocational qualification.

Experience:

  • 5–7 years of experience in Oracle ERP or Financials system implementation.
  • Proven experience in aligning key business users and embracing a Change Champion Model.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong project management and resource management experience.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to lead complex situations.
