Job Description Summary

The Project Director leads day-to-day delivery of GEV's allocated Scope of Work under a Consortium Agreement, ensuring engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, cost, schedule and quality performance are achieved for GEV's own contractual obligations. The Project Director manages GEV's internal delivery team and functional leads, and coordinates with the Consortium Leader on all matters requiring cross-Party alignment, Customer communication, or governance escalation.

This role is accountable for GEV's delivery outcomes only. It is not accountable for the Consortium Partner's Scope of Work, and does not direct the Partner's resources, subcontractors, or scope decisions. Any dependency on the Partner's performance affecting GEV's delivery is tracked and escalated through the Consortium Leader.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of GE Vernova’s engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities in line with contractual scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
• Manage GEV Project Managers and functional leads, ensuring effective day-to-day project execution.
• Own GEV’s project budget, forecasting, cost control, and margin performance.
• Manage GEV’s detailed project schedule, critical path, key milestones, long-lead items, and recovery plans where required.
• Own and manage GEV-side project risks, escalating cross-party risks and impacts to the Consortium Leader.
• Oversee engineering delivery, technical coordination, procurement, supply chain activities, and construction and installation readiness for GEV’s scope.
• Coordinate GEV-related interfaces with consortium partners and proactively identify and escalate interface risks or delays.
• Ensure compliance with GEV’s quality, documentation, and HSE requirements, including providing day-to-day HSE leadership for GEV site personnel.
• Partner with GEV Commercial and Contracts teams on contractual, cost, claims, and change-related matters affecting GEV’s scope.
• Provide accurate and timely reporting on project progress, cost, risks, quality, HSE, KPIs, and key actions to support overall project governance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management
• Minimum 15 years in major EPC/infrastructure/energy project delivery, including significant time in a senior Project Director/PM role
• Experience delivering a defined scope of work within a larger multi-party or consortium project structure
• Practical experience delivering projects in Algeria or comparable North African markets
• Fluency in English

Desired Characteristics

• PMP or equivalent certification desirable
• Professional engineering qualification an advantage, relevant to GEV's technical scope
• Relevant sector project experience strongly preferred
• Fluency in French and/ or Arabic
• Strong operational leadership and organizational discipline within a defined scope
• Disciplined communicator able to provide clear, timely input to the Consortium Leader on interface and cross-Party matters
• Full compliance with company integrity policies and applicable anti-corruption/anti-bribery laws
