The Role

We are seeking a Japan-based Project Engineer to coordinate customer programs for precision metal components. This is a remote contract role focused on technical communication, drawings, schedules, sampling, engineering changes, and launch readiness. Occasional customer visits within Japan are expected with advance agreement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate customer drawings, specifications, milestones, and open actions with Yibi’s engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.

• Support DFM reviews, RFQ clarification, tooling and sample schedules, qualification, and NPI handoff.

• Track engineering changes, dimensional issues, corrective actions, and delivery risks.

• Prepare clear bilingual meeting notes, action lists, and program-status reports.

• Support customer engineering and quality reviews and escalate risks early.

• Attend occasional customer meetings when agreed in advance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant project, application, manufacturing, product, or quality engineering experience is preferred. Candidates with direct MIM, CNC, tooling, or precision-component experience are encouraged to apply even with fewer years.

• Ability to read drawings and discuss GD&T, tolerances, materials, inspection, and DFM.

• Experience coordinating samples, NPI, engineering changes, or corrective actions.

• Professional Japanese and working English are strongly preferred.

• Legal ability to provide contract services from Japan and willingness to travel occasionally when agreed in advance.
