Project Engineer II (m/f/d)

We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer II to join us at Honeywell, in Bucharest. This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model. Travel to customer required at a yearly average of 50%

The purpose of the role is to implement engineering solutions, under supervision, for:

• Process Control

• Safety Instrumented Systems

• Human Machine Interface

• Hardware Design

• on industrial process automation projects in industries like: Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, Specialty Chemicals, etc.

The types of projects are:

o Greenfield – new development based on EPC specifications.

o Legacy / Release migrations – migrations from old Honeywell systems to the new ones.

o Competitive migrations – migrations from competition to Honeywell systems.

The scope of the projects might also include 3rd party integration, SCADA, PLC programming and migrations, System engineering, Cyber Security, Networking and Virtualization.

Key responsibilities

• Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule and budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
• Creates the Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
• Creates the Detailed Design Specifications (DDS).
• Creates the FAT, SAT procedures and Operator manuals.
• Executes work assignment at the appropriate standards and quality:
  • Control: DCS (C300 controller, Control Edge PLCs, HPM, RTU2020 etc) implementation.
  • Safety: SIS (ESD, BMS, F&G) logic implementation using Safety Manager and Fail Safe Controller.
  • HMI: Creation of HMI displays, HMI dynamic and static shapes / objects and faceplates, migration of displays from old releases to the new ones, etc.
  • Hardware: DCS, SIS, marshalling, PLC, Server, Network, System cabinet drawings, I/O allocation, System Architecture, Power and Heat calculation, loop drawings, etc.
  • System: Server/Station Configuration/Administration in Physical or Virtual environment; Networking Configuration (Switches, Routers)
• Participates to Kick Off Meetings, internal FATs, FATs, SATs, Commissioning and start-up.
• Effectively communicates with customers to fully define and agree project requirements.
• The responsibility could includ the coordination of teams of engineers on projects.
• The engineer makes sure the scope and schedule are understood and followed
• Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency improvements within the engineering group.
• Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines.
• Reports progress and technical problems and / or changes to project lead engineer or Project Manager.
• Can technically coach / mentor and actively share knowledge with less experienced engineers in the project team.
• Responsible for technical scope of assigned projects
• Travel to customer required at a yearly average of 50%
• Flexibility is required

Key skills and qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of written and spoken English (Min B2/C1)
• Any other European language skill is a plus (French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, German)
• Bachelor / Master of Science Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. Preferred specializations: Automation and Computers, Informatics, Mathematics, Cybernetics, Electronics
• 3+ years Project experience as Project Engineer I
• Proven experience in maintaining the quality of deliverables on projects.
• Relevant experience on at least one site.
• Proven experience of working without supervision.
• Experience leading small project
• PAS Product certification (at least 1 discipline certification recommended- Control, HMI, Safety, Hardware, Batch)
• Field Service Engineers (LSS):
  • System engineers (L2 Migrations):
    • EPKS L3 / TPS L2; OPM L2 (Working on minimum 2 OPM Projects), Virtualization and Network Experience (minimum 1 project)
  • Application engineers (L1 Migrations):
    • EPKS L2
    • HPM-C300; C200-C300; 3rd party PLCs-Honeywell Controller migration experience.
• IT&C background
• Honeywell products knowledge (based on assigned discipline) :
  1. Experion Configuration Studio
     • Control Builder (Process Control)
     • Quick Builder (SCADA)
     • HMIWeb Display Builder / Display Builder
     • Experion PKS (Server and Client)
     • Experion Batch Manager
  2. Experion associated software:
     • Microsoft SQL
     • Microsoft Visual Studio / VB Script
     • Jscript
     • HTML
  3. Safety Manager
  4. Legacy systems (TPS, FSC, etc.)
  5. Control Edge, UOC, Master Logic
  6. AutoCAD
• Experience with DDS represents an advantage
• Knowledge of Global Project Methodology (GPM), Standard Builds.
