JOB TITLE: PROJECT ESTIMATOR - REMOTE
DEPARTMENT: GES – GUARDIAN ENGINEERED SYSTEMS
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF ESTIMATING
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Estimator to join our team. The Project Estimator is responsible for analyzing construction drawings and project specifications to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates of custom engineered fall protection systems. This role works closely with our sales representatives, engineers, project managers, vendors, and clients to develop proposals that support successful project execution and company growth.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of construction methods, costs, and industry standards. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously, meet deadlines, and contribute to strategic project planning from concept through award.
This is a fully remote, work from home, full-time, salaried position with industry specific training and equipment provided. An option for hybrid office time is available at our Columbus, OH location if preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review construction drawings and specifications to determine customer needs
- Develop initial layouts and design concepts for fall protection and façade maintenance systems
- Assist with the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and project deliverables
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fall protection industry standards
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\
- Minimum of 2-years of cost estimating experience in construction, industrial, or any other qualifying fields required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or other qualifying fields preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze complex construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost estimating principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, BlueBeam Revu, and automated estimating software
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet strict bid deadlines
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, operations teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
