We’re hiring a Project Manager I for a fully remote contract opportunity with a leading organization in the digital publishing and information services industry.

Job Title: Project Manager I

Pay Rate: $38/hour

Location: Fully Remote

Contract Duration: July 24, 2026 – March 31, 2027

Position Overview

The Project Manager will oversee the development and release of new and updated digital content products. This individual will manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder communication to ensure projects are completed on time and meet established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects throughout the full product development and release lifecycle.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
  • Track project progress, budgets, risks, resource needs, and final delivery targets.
  • Communicate project status, schedule changes, and budget or content variances to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with content owners, subject matter experts, peer reviewers, and external contributors.
  • Ensure project deliverables, documentation, and payment requests are submitted on time.
  • Manage overlapping project assignments and complex resource allocations.
  • Lead recurring meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Gather and document business requirements with development and distribution partners.
  • Troubleshoot issues reported by internal teams, external partners, and customers.
  • Partner with product, marketing, sales, client services, and development teams on product launches and communications.
  • Apply Agile project management practices within a content development environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least two years of project management experience.
  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, resources, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Experience working across multiple technical and business teams.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and overlapping project assignments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, and project tracking tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Quickbase.
  • Experience working in an Agile project environment.
  • Background in digital content, publishing, education, media, or information services.
  • Experience supporting content development, editorial, peer-review, or product launch workflows.
