Is this job info correct?

Summary: The Project Manager leads the planning, coordination and execution of complex, cross-functional work across Communications, Marketing, Digital and Research at U.S. Travel. This role manages a portfolio of high-priority initiatives spanning multiple teams and functions, from major one-time efforts, such as the ustravel.org website redesign and brand identity implementation, to recurring programs. This person serves as the central point of coordination across internal teams, agency partners and vendors. They establish clear project governance — plans, roles, timelines and decision points — and manage stakeholder communication throughout. The role brings structure, accountability and transparency to multiple concurrent workstreams while proactively identifying risks, resolving roadblocks and keeping work moving forward. Responsibilities: • Manage a portfolio of concurrent projects, including both major one-time initiatives and recurring organizational programs, with significant support for marketing, digital and communications initiatives. • Lead day-to-day project management for complex, cross-functional initiatives, such as the U.S. Travel website redesign and brand implementation. • Develop and manage integrated project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies and governance for these initiatives, including executive reporting. • Build repeatable planning frameworks for recurring organizational programs, such as major events and seasonal campaigns, so execution improves cycle over cycle while applying tailored governance to one-time strategic projects. • Facilitate project meetings by preparing agendas, documenting decisions and ensuring timely follow-up on commitments. • Coordinate cross-functional teams, agency partners and vendors to keep deliverables, approvals and project milestones moving forward. • Monitor project progress, identify risks and resource constraints, escalate issues as appropriate and support resolution to maintain project momentum. • Maintain project management tools, dashboards and documentation that provide visibility into project status, milestones and accountability across teams. • Develop and refine project management processes, templates and best practices to improve efficiency, consistency and collaboration across teams. • Lead project retrospectives and implement lessons learned to continuously improve project execution and team effectiveness. Key Attributes: • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through. • Proactive, with the ability to anticipate challenges before they become obstacles. • Strong communicator who builds working relationships across creative, technical, operational and executive teams. • Working knowledge of communications, marketing and digital disciplines, sufficient to coordinate effectively across these functions without requiring deep subject-matter expertise in any one of them. • Brings structure, accountability and transparency without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. • Skilled at influencing and facilitating consensus, keeping cross-functional teams moving toward shared goals. • Continuously looks for opportunities to improve processes, workflows and team effectiveness. • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting quickly as priorities evolve. Education, Experience and Skills: • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field. • Minimum of five years of project management experience leading complex, cross-functional marketing, digital or technology initiatives. • Demonstrated experience managing website redesigns, digital implementations or other enterprise-level projects preferred but not required. • Experience coordinating external agencies, consultants and vendors. • Strong understanding of website development lifecycles, UX and digital content workflows. • Proficiency with project management platforms such as Smartsheet, Asana, Monday.com or equivalent. • Experience working in Agile and traditional project management environments and adapting the approach based on the needs of the project. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • PMP, Agile certification or equivalent project management training preferred but not required. Other: Position is based in Washington, D.C. U.S. Travel staff work in the office Tuesday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. Moderate travel (up to five times per year) required. Other duties may be assigned. Salary: 85-95K with bonus potential. Benefits: Comprehensive healthcare package with fertility coverage. Generous paid leave including family leave. Routine staff functions and opportunities for social connection. Transportation and cell phone benefits. Robust wellness initiatives and Employee Assistance Plan (EAP). Education and professional development assistance.
