We're looking for a Project Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, working across our Bradford (BD4) and Leeds city centre offices. This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility of working two days per week in the office and three days remotely.
As a Project Manager, you'll lead the successful delivery of strategic technology initiatives, including cloud migrations, enterprise software implementations, digital transformation programmes, and data platform enhancements. You'll coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project delivery from initiation through to completion, and drive best practice across both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Working closely with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, senior stakeholders and customers, you'll ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business objectives. You'll be responsible for managing scope, risks, dependencies and governance, while fostering collaboration and accountability across project teams.
This is a hands-on delivery role suited to an experienced project professional who is equally confident operating within Agile and Waterfall environments. You'll be comfortable presenting project plans, delivery roadmaps and progress updates to senior leadership, project stakeholders and customers, while ensuring teams remain focused on delivering successful outcomes.
What will you be doing?
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent projects across Agile and Waterfall environments, taking ownership from discovery and planning through to implementation, testing, go-live and successful completion.
- Manage project budgets, typically ranging from £250,000 to £1 million, ensuring effective financial control, forecasting and delivery of agreed outcomes within approved funding.
- Act as Scrum Master where required, facilitating key Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives, while working closely with Product Owners to maintain and prioritise delivery backlogs.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables and success measures in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders, managing changes through established governance and change control processes.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including delivery roadmaps, project plans, RAID logs, status reports, dashboards and project schedules.
- Work collaboratively with the PMO and wider delivery teams to manage risks, dependencies, resources and budgets, balancing time, cost, quality and scope while ensuring adherence to governance standards.
- Provide clear and proactive communication to stakeholders at all levels, serving as the key point of contact for project progress, risks, issues and decision-making.
- Ensure successful transition of projects into operational support or customer ownership, capturing lessons learned and closing projects against agreed acceptance criteria.
- Support and mentor junior project professionals, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and driving project management best practice across the organisation.
We tend to look for people with:
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, or similar delivery-focused role, with a track record of successfully delivering technology, software development, or business transformation projects from inception through to completion.
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, including discovery, planning, delivery, implementation, hypercare and project closure, with practical experience applying Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities within a fast-paced, complex environment while maintaining a high standard of delivery.
- Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and experience working closely with engineering, product and technology teams.
- Experience managing project budgets, financial forecasting and reporting to ensure projects remain on track and within agreed funding.
- Exposure to managing third-party suppliers and technology vendors, including oversight of contracts, statements of work and delivery commitments.
- Familiarity with PMO processes, governance frameworks and portfolio reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior business leaders.
Desirable:
- Professional Agile certification such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), or equivalent.
- Recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, or similar.
- Experience working within hybrid delivery environments that combine Agile and Waterfall approaches.
- Background delivering projects within regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, legal services, or other highly governed sectors.
- Knowledge of ITIL 4 service management principles, particularly around service transition and operational handover.
- Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, ISO 9001 or ISO 22301.
- Understanding of product management practices, outcome-based delivery and OKR frameworks.
- Experience using project and Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence and related collaboration platforms.
What’s in it for you?
