Project Manager

(12 Month Fixed Term - Hybrid)

Location: Naas, Co. Kildare

The Role:

We are seeking a capable Project Manager to join our Digital Services department for a 12 month fixed term contract with possibility of extension. The role will support the delivery of software, business applications, data and analytics, and wider digital transformation projects for prominent public sector organisations across Ireland and may work across one or more technology practices depending on project and portfolio needs.

Working within Digital Services and reporting to a Programme Manager, you will own the delivery of projects from planning through to closure, working with cross-functional teams to deliver strong outcomes for our clients. You will bring structure, strong follow-through and a willingness to use modern tools, including AI-assisted ones, to make delivery smoother, with direction from the Head of Digital Services on programme priorities and senior escalations.

In particular we are looking for candidates with strong customer management skills with experience of overcoming obstacles and building trust and mutual respect with customers, while maintaining high quality project deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership & Execution: Own the delivery of projects from scoping and planning through to execution, reporting, and closure. Define project objectives and deliverables, keep the team aligned and manage stakeholder communications to ensure timely, within-budget, high-quality outcomes. Drive issue resolution, apply change control, and manage project releases.

  • Resource Planning & Capacity: Forecast the resource needs of your projects based on priorities, timelines, and skill requirements, and work with the practice lead and other project managers to flag capacity constraints early and avoid over- or under-allocation.

  • Budget & Financial Control: Manage project budgets and track billing, revenue and margin against agreed targets, escalating variances early. Support invoicing and timesheet compliance for your projects.

  • Governance, RAID & Reporting: Maintain project plans, RAID logs, and action and decision tracking in line with PMO and Jira process standards. Produce clear, accurate status reports covering progress, risks, blockers, and decisions required, and track key project metrics. Identify risks early, propose mitigation options, and escalate with context.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with public sector clients to understand their digital transformation goals, build trust and strong relationships with key stakeholders, and keep them informed through clear, timely communication. Work with the Programme Manager, Head of Digital Services and Account Manager where required to prepare status updates, action and decision items, and governance decks. Where appropriate, present project updates at steering meetings, committees or to senior stakeholders, internally or externally. Flag new opportunities to the relevant account and Programme manager.

  • Technology-Enabled Delivery & Improvement: Make good use of Jira, MS Project and other available tools, including AI-assisted ones, to automate tracking, reporting, and documentation. Suggest and adopt improvements to delivery processes, and share what works with the team.

  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment through open communication, support the development of less experienced colleagues, and share learning across the practice.

Requirements

  • Experience:3-5 years of experience in IT project management or technology delivery, with a record of successfully delivering projects and working with clients and cross-functional teams.

  • Project Management Knowledge:Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid), planning and scheduling,, change management, and reporting on key project KPIs.

  • Communication & Stakeholder Skills: Clear, confident written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to work effectively with senior and operational stakeholders, produce concise status reports, governance materials and project documentation, coordinate people diplomatically, present updates where required, and raise difficult issues constructively.

  • Ownership & Problem Solving: You drive clarity and progress without waiting to be chased, and you escalate with context and a recommended way forward.

  • Technical Proficiency: Working proficiency in Jira and MS Project (or equivalent tools), with experience delivering software or technology projects.

  • Technology Delivery Understanding: Comfortable working across software, business applications, data, analytics and AI-enabled solutions and other digital projects. Deep technical expertise is not required, but you should be able and willing to build sufficient understanding of the solution, dependencies and delivery context to manage projects effectively with support from the wider team.

  • Openness to Technology: Curiosity about new tools and ways of working, including AI-assisted ones, and the willingness to adopt them to improve how projects are planned, tracked, and reported.

  • Governance & Compliance: Working knowledge of project governance, PMO standards, and risk management.

  • Certifications: Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent); Change Management preferred.

  • Location: Must be residing, and eligible to work, in Ireland without sponsorship.

    Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to data projects (for example data migration, reporting or analytics), ideally on the Microsoft platform.

  • AI-Assisted Ways of Working: Experience using tools such as Microsoft Copilot to support planning, reporting, and documentation.

  • Project Commercial Awareness: Good understanding of project commercials, including budget tracking, timesheets, invoicing, revenue recognition and forecasting, with an ability to understand how project delivery decisions can impact revenue and margin.

  • Commercial & Public Sector: Experience of contract/procurement management or delivering for public sector clients.
