Build the future!
McGraw Hill is a global education innovation company offering solutions from textbooks to EdTech platforms that improve learning outcomes. To support our growing digital content operations, we are hiring a Project Manager, Operations to own the production schedules and tracking systems behind our eBook and SmartBook titles, and you will operate within a general office environment, including remote work.
How are you creating an impact?
As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of producing high-quality content, managing competing priorities, keeping cross-functional teams aligned, and finding smarter ways to work. These are high-volume, fast-moving projects, and success depends on your ability to stay organized, anticipate problems before they escalate, and bring curiosity, calm, and clarity to every challenge.
What will you be doing?
- Build and maintain Smartsheet tracking systems for all eBook and SmartBook titles within a release year, monitoring for schedule gaps and delays and collaborating with product teams to keep scheduling and production details accurate and current
- Coordinate Jira ticket creation for eBook and SmartBook production, working with team members to maintain tickets throughout the lifecycle
- Configure and maintain the Smartsheet–Jira Connector so ticket progress and handoff statuses are automatically reflected in tracking sheets
- Maintain and update project management documentation for both eBook and SmartBook programs, ensuring resources remain accurate and up to date
- Assist with selected eBook production tasks, including coordinating inputs and ensuring readiness for shared content titles in pre-authoring, and supporting setup and delivery of limited commercial release titles ahead of scheduled release dates
- Act as eBook/SmartBook Project Manager on a selected list of titles to build firsthand knowledge of the production process, supporting onboarding and continuous workflow documentation
- Support PO datasheet review and approval processes, working closely with the team manager to facilitate timely purchase order creation
- Proactively identify risks, adapt plans when priorities shift, and resolve problems creatively and resourcefully
- Communicate clearly and consistently with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining accurate project data across all systems
- Champion accessibility standards across all deliverables to ensure an equitable learning experience for all students
- Engage in cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives, process improvements, and the piloting of new tools and workflows, using AI-powered tools to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and delivery outcomes
- Support other projects and duties as assigned
We are looking for someone having:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of project management experience, ideally in digital content production
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Skill in communicating clearly across all levels of an organization, both internal and external
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues, adapt quickly, and problem-solve creatively in a dynamic, evolving environment
- Strong time management and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain data integrity across all project management systems
- A team player who collaborates well across functions
- Experience with project management and content tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Habitat, Adobe Acrobat)
- Familiarity with accessibility standards preferred
- Comfort with AI-powered tools and a willingness to pilot new workflows preferred
Why work with us?
There has never been a better time to join McGraw Hill. In our culture of curiosity and innovation, you will be able to own your growth and develop as we do!
