Job Description Project Manager – BIM / Design Projects Location: Remote – South Africa About the Role We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager on behalf of an established organisation operating within the BIM and construction design sector. Our client is looking for a capable, hands-on Project Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day coordination and delivery of multiple live design projects. This is very much a delivery-focused role , rather than one centred solely around managing people and timelines. You will be responsible for BIM coordination, drawing and model issue registers, design programmes and ensuring projects and deliverables remain on track. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple live design projects simultaneously, keeping programmes, issue dates and deliverables on track. Coordinate distributed design teams, contractors and clients, resolving coordination queries and clash issues before they impact issue dates. Own and maintain drawing/model issue registers, ensuring accuracy and completeness before external issue. Manage RFIs, variations and scope changes, building a clear evidence trail to support commercial positions where scope has shifted. Run coordination calls and design review meetings, keeping discussions focused and ensuring action items are followed up. Maintain CDE and document-control workflows (e.g. Asite, Aconex, ACC) in line with ISO 19650 principles. Keep programme trackers, resourcing logs and timesheets accurate across multiple live projects. Communicate proactively with clients and stakeholders, flagging risk and scope issues early. Requirements Proven experience as a Project Manager on construction, MEP or BIM-coordinated design projects. Experience managing distributed/remote design teams. Strong working knowledge of BIM coordination processes, issue registers and design programmes. Comfortable managing CDEs and document-control workflows; familiarity with ISO 19650 preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships directly. Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing several live projects at once. Nice to Have Background in fire sprinkler design or the wider fire protection industry. Familiarity with fire protection standards and codes such as BS EN 12845, NFPA 13 or LPC Rules . Experience coordinating fire sprinkler drawings, models or hydraulic design packages within a BIM environment.
