Are you drawn to the challenge of working on a variety of projects that require creative solutions and exercising the best project management practices? Do you want to evolve in an enriching environment that will lead you to participate in muti disciplinary engineering building projects?
This role will focus on working within a team specializing in mid to large-scale projects and will represent, support and deliver to clients in various types and sizes. You will use several facets of engineering, construction and project management.
As a Buildings Engineering Project Manager variety is key as every day is different from the next. We are looking for a sociable person, a builder of interpersonal relationships, who has the ability to adapt to environments that can change direction quickly.
Key responsibilities
- Acting and taking on responsibility of projects in a role as Project Manager, Design Manager or Work Package Manager. Act as liaison to ensure open lines of communication.
- Carrying out multidisciplinary coordination and follow-up with our clients in the delivery of mid to large-scale projects
- Lead and support multi disciplinary proposals and other business development activities
- Identifying and monitoring issues that may affect budgets and timelines within established milestones
- Managing clients/consultants/contractors/suppliers and responding to technical inquiries
- Managing the process of calls for tenders, awarding and negotiation of construction and professional services contracts;
- Assembling, managing and delivering construction contracts and professional scopes of work
- Managing overall project management activities, including Contract Administration, Cost, Scheduling, Procurement, Permitting, etc.
- Bachelor of Engineering and 5+ years as a Project Manager or Coordinator
- Registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (P.Eng) or have ability to obtain a designation with them
- Skilled in work organization, priority management and an interest in teamwork in an environment that can change direction quickly
- Excel in critical thinking
- Having the ability to read and understand engineering plans and technical specifications
- PMP designation is an asset
- Exposure to engineering consulting organizations
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in oral and written English
