We're looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to join our client's team on a strategic, long-term consulting assignment in Brussels. You’ll play a key role in driving a complex technical initiative from planning through implementation, ensuring clear objectives, effective stakeholder collaboration, and high-quality delivery. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned project manager who combines strong technical project leadership with a structured, proactive approach and the ability to translate strategic priorities into tangible results.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage project scope, objectives, budgets, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Identify dependencies, assess risks, and coordinate mitigation actions to keep the project on track.
- Lead and align business analysts and other stakeholders around shared priorities and deliverables.
- Monitor progress and provide clear reporting on status, decisions, issues, bottlenecks, risks, and corrective actions.
- Maintain decision logs, track agreed actions, and ensure transparent project documentation.
- Develop and maintain quality management plans and support the implementation of cross-functional processes.
- Guide the setup of monitoring solutions and ensure a smooth transition to operational teams.
- Use tools such as JIRA and Confluence for project tracking, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders, external partners, and suppliers while supporting change management, user training, and organisational adoption.
- Contribute to project governance, demand management, strategic reporting, best practices, and the continuous improvement of project management processes.
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience leading IT and technical projects, with proven project management expertise.
- Previous experience in the public sector is essential.
- Strong capabilities in project planning, budget management, risk and quality management, change management, and vendor coordination.
- Experience developing project visions and roadmaps, defining KPIs, and establishing clear priorities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bring diverse teams together and drive progress independently.
- Native-level proficiency in Dutch or French, a strong passive understanding of the other language, and good command of English.
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset, combined with discretion, reliability, and the ability to handle sensitive information professionally.
- Location: Brussels, with at least two days per week on-site, depending on project needs and team agreements.
- Engagement: Full-time, long-term consulting assignment.
- Remote working: Available from a consultant's or employer's address in Belgium, subject to project arrangements.
- Continuity: Availability for a follow-up phase after implementation is required.
