Project Manager – Low Voltage Cabling & Infrastructure

Location: Tempe, AZ – Local Candidates Required

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $100,000–$110,000 + Bonus

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite in Tempe, with one optional remote day per week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday)


About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Low Voltage Cabling & Infrastructure to join a leading global technology solutions provider in Tempe, AZ.

This position is responsible for managing multiple technology infrastructure projects throughout the complete project lifecycle—from planning and scheduling through implementation, delivery and closeout.

Projects include low-voltage structured cabling, Audio Visual (AV), Unified Communications, networking, physical security/security technology and data center infrastructure deployments, including projects in new-construction and remodel environments.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of project management and/or technical team leadership experience within IT Professional Services or low-voltage infrastructure deployments and understands how to manage scope, schedules, resources, budgets, vendors, risks and customer expectations.


What You'll Do
  • Manage multiple infrastructure projects from initiation and planning through execution, implementation and closeout.

  • Lead project teams responsible for the delivery of low-voltage cabling, AV, Unified Communications, networking, security and/or data center solutions.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and master project plans.

  • Coordinate internal technical resources, field teams, customers, vendors and third-party partners.

  • Manage projects according to approved Statements of Work (SOWs) and established project management methodologies.

  • Track project milestones, deliverables and quality gates and take corrective action when projects deviate from plan.

  • Manage project scope and identify requirements that fall outside the approved SOW.

  • Lead change-management activities and develop Project Change Requests when additional scope is introduced.

  • Manage resource assignments and ensure technical resources are available and completing work according to project requirements.

  • Monitor project budgets, profitability and Earned Value throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure project invoices are generated and submitted in a timely manner.

  • Identify, document and manage project risks and issues and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Develop communication plans defining project meetings, status reporting and escalation procedures.

  • Lead customer and internal project meetings.

  • Provide clear and consistent project status updates to customers, stakeholders and technical teams.

  • Oversee third-party vendors and partners and coordinate deliverables with vendor Project Managers.

  • Ensure project deliverables are completed, validated and provided to customers according to the SOW.

  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Document lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery processes.


What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of Project Management and/or Technical Team Lead experience involving IT Professional Services infrastructure deployments.

  • Project experience involving one or more of the following:

    • Low-voltage structured cabling

    • Audio Visual (AV) systems

    • Unified Communications

    • Networking

    • Physical security/security technology

    • Data center infrastructure

  • Experience managing projects in new-construction and/or remodel environments preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently.

  • Strong understanding of project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks and change management.

  • Experience managing technical resources, subcontractors, vendors and third-party partners.

  • Ability to work within Statements of Work and manage projects against contractual deliverables.

  • Strong customer-facing and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal business communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business customers.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in environments with changing requirements.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.

  • Experience with Project Portfolio Management, Project Management and/or Workforce Management systems.


Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with formal Project Management training preferred.

OR

  • Associate's degree in a related field with extensive experience in IT and/or low-voltage cabling infrastructure.

Equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.


Certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • CAPM, ITIL and/or relevant technical certifications are also valued.


Additional Requirements
  • Candidates must be local to the Tempe/Phoenix metropolitan area.

  • Ability to work primarily from the Tempe office Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with one optional remote day per week on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

  • Ability to visit project/customer sites as required.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

  • Certain client assignments may require medical testing or satisfactory documentation of required testing as a condition of assignment.


Compensation

$100,000–$110,000 base salary plus bonus
